How do you price your shop items?

Thu Sep 09, 2004 3:26 pm

I always price mine below the lowest one on the shop wizard (after many refreshes to find the true lowest price). If it doesn't sell in 24 hours, I revise its price accordingly. I just can't understand how some people can price their items so exorbitantly and expect people to buy!

Depends. Codestone/Dubloon/etc,maybe a hundred off..if its something rare, maybe 5k off...something dirt cheap,5 NP off to just putting it for 1 NP out of lazyness..

I price my items at lowest yet realistic price on shop wizard.

I'm the same as Combusken.

I usually sell 50-300 NP below the normal price if it's at least 4k. If it's below that but above 1000 NP, I price less than the normal prices, but at most 50 NP less. If it's in the hundreds, then I won't go cheaper.

I always price mine the lowest on the shop wiz and if it doesn't sell after like 5 or 10 minutes I lower it.

I try pricing mine as lowest on the wiz. If like a stamp doesn't sell by the next day, I lower it a little or check the wiz to see if any are lower.

The other day I saw a notice costing 4 million posted on the notice board by Hrobi, advertising her shop. However in her shop, her items are priced way too expensive. I just can't understand why she can afford to spend 4 million on advertising (which seldom works anyway) than lowering her prices (which is the most practical way of getting people to buy your items).

Because people are dumb enough to buy overpriced junk from a famous person.

"OMG IT"S LYEK HROBI OMG OMG OMGOMGOMG MAYBE SHELEL BE MY NEOFRIND IF I LYEK BY HER STUFF OMG~!!1!1!!!1!!"

...Okay, not exactly like that, but really close.

Oh, and umm, I price mine a few hundred below the lowest price on the shop wizard, but if it's something expensive (15k+), I price it a few thousand lower.

Price it about 3rd or 4th cheapest. You gotta get some money out of it now. :>

My prices are always a couple thousand NP off the shop wiz, unless its something easy to sell like Faeries or Codestones.

Hmm, it really depends what kind of a mood I'm in. I usually try to get the cheapest or within the third-fourth cheapest price. It depends onthe other sellers. If most are reasonably priced and a bunch of members price there's far lower for some odd reason, I'm obviously not going to go with the lower price.

I usually make a list of the current prices and then update it every couple days or so. If an item doesn't sell by the next morning, I recheck the price and adjust it as needed.

I usually price it about 100 under the shop wiz. If it doesn't sell I redo it

She's running a differnt kind of shop.
Often new players don't know to check the wiz.
Or, more often, newer players (And some older ones) don't know that they can go ask for quest help on the boards and hence turn to overpriced malls to help them get quest items.
The latter is especialy true of people who are too young to be allowed to use the neoboards.

As for myself particularly i tend to price just below the shop wiz
I don't care how fast my items sell I can give it a day or two.
If they don't sell for a bit i check to make sure the item price hasn't changed.

I do the same. Just price mine a little lower than the lowest on the shop wiz. ^-^
