Once again I would like to point out that “template” or copy and paste messages are unacceptable when greeting our new members.
The purpose of the “New Members, Evil Monster Sighting” board is to make those new members who’ve posted feel welcomed; and posting the same message when replying to all of the new member’s threads does not accomplish this.
Copy and paste messages are just spam which is not permitted. Not only are these messages highly frowned upon, but from now (June 26th 2004) on further action will be taken upon those who continue to post the same repetitive template messages in new member’s threads.
Please take the time to read over the member’s introductions, learn about them, and reply accordingly. It may be difficult, especially at times when there are a lot of new members to greet each one with a personal message. But trust me, it’s not impossible. Greeters should be inviting, polite and “always there with a smile and a kind, reassuring word."
