Well, I didn't really know what to expect from this monster, but I had hoped to beat him at least once. Too bad for me. :( My pet isn't a very high anything, but he is ok for a beginning battler. I at least managed 6 rounds with the moach. The fourth round looked good for me, I had 29 hp left & hadn't used the scorchstone yet and he was down to 30 something. On the fifth round we did like 18 damage to the beastie, but then the moach used his healing powers & was fully healed! Back to 75!! He squashed me on the 6th.

Well, I just got home from band practice and, yea, a new monster to fight. My pet is ok (not great, not bad). For those of you who are getting killed on the first try, may I suggest using "Burrow" and use a weak attack. I only get hit 0-7 hp and then can get him in the next round or so. It seems, to me anyway, that he hits hardest in the first round. If you can survive it, then you just may have a chance to beat him once or twice.

Going from a +15 opponent to a +75 is kinda ridiculous unless they plan on adding in some weaker challengers along the way or they make it so battling doesn't play a major roll in points at the end.

I would like some more logic puzzles, please.

Oooh, well.... maybe try once, you never know. You might get lucky. At least a loss won't end the plot for you. You just won't get QUITE as many reward points in the end.

Yeah, don't bother.
My Leaf Shield(and my lab pet's ridiculously high HP) is helping immensely, but to those of you complaining about the levels jump, just remember how low the win limit was last time.

Whoot!! I am so glad I got my 250 Strength Boost.

I am happy with the new challenger - I hope it stays around for a couple of days.

Yeah this really sucks. :( I knew I wouldn't get to do much battling because battle pet is still a beginner. But I had hoped I could at least win a few with the second challenger before battling went over my head.
But with a strength and defense of 35 and HP of 39 I don't dare even try this guy once.

Grrrr what happened to intermediate steps for battlers? :P

GAH!!! Level 46, 81 HP 66 in everything else. I beat him twice and now I just keep drawing. At least I DID beat him twice.

Maybe he's so hard to make this a quick step and we'll get a new puzzle soon (wink, wink, nudge, nudge TNT)

Same here, Trillian. I beat him twice, got whalloped for a while, and now keep drawing. Doing a lot of dewberry reviver. And like you said "At least I DID beat him twice." ;)

And an heads up for those of you who are of too low a level to even want to fight him. In the last plot (Tale of Woe) you couldn't advance to the next level unless you fought the challenger--even if you lost, you still were able to move to the next step. That doesn't mean that this plot is like that at all, but you never know, it might be. Better to be safe than sorry.

ugh, great, a tough challenger. And I can't even try my luck with the giant bug because my pet is sick.

I am stopped by the necessity to have at least 4 hours of sleep before work, however my battle pet has been able to beat the Monstrous Moach 52 times so far without the use of a freezer or suffering a defeat.

A lot of money was poured into training this pet but I am nearing the maximum I can to beat this challenger.

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, xxxholic, Full Metal Alchemist, Fruit Baskets, Ergo Proxy, now what is next ? hints wanted from knowledgeable anime fan.
