Is this correct? I'm just trying to make sure.
Messenger, but you right click it, and hit properties, and hit Disable then stop

Ok thanks, I knew it was something I wasn't quite getting.

On my computer the USB ports on the front don't work, and there are none on the back. Is there any way to fix them?

Lass, you mite try and go to device manager and check out if your USB has an error, there should be a exclamation mark next to any devices with errors. Then maybe you can troubleshoot from there to fix the problem.

Try resetting your theme appearance. Right Click Desktop > Appearance. Reselect your style and apply.

Thanks for the answer, but I need help on the first question. Is there any way to recover files deleted from the recycle bin?

I have a problem with my wireless internet. I think it has something to do with the subnet mask and default gateway. But anyway, when I click on the icon in the taskbar, right side.

This is the box that comes up:

See it's apparently sending ok, but doesn't recieve anything, and strength etc is ok.

See on the left is the settings for wireless and then for the cable. How could I change the settings on the left?

Ugh... This is really annoying. Neopets lagged today, and it stopped a few moments ago. But after this lag, EVERY single page started to lag for me. Just because of the lag in Neopets... How is that even possible? I've tried clearing cookies and everything, but nothing seems to help. Every page just loads very slowly... Can anyone help me in this?

Ack.

After an accidental System Recovery the other day, all my documents seemed to disappear. It said the folder was empty; however, there were 6GB of documents, and the space they took up on my computer was not freed. Every time I try and get into the folder, it says 'Access is denied.' Is there any way I can get my documents back?

Edit: Apparently it has to do with the folder being private, and since it was only accessible on my user account (that stopped working), I can't get to it.

Try running Adaware or whatever spyware program you have, if that doesn't work, then try restarting or computer. And if you don't have Adaware or anything like it, get one.

Try logging into Windows as "Administrator." Administrator has access to all folders regardless of any privacy settings.

Thank you very much! I'll try that now.

Ok, I tried that...still getting the same message. None of the administrator accounts can open the folder.

Technically, deleting files from the recycling bin should be just the same as emptying the recycling bin. Although I have been told by a friend that you can never fully delete something, but to get it back (even if only a small part of the file) you would have to have some serious programming knowledge under your belt, like writing your own program in order to get it back.

No, there are alot of programs out there that can recover deleted files and lost data, just do a search for file recovery on google.

Er, the screen on my laptop...is blank. As in blank, there's nothing there, it's as if it's not even turned on. But I know the computer is on, because the little lights on it are indicating it's on and it makes a sound when I hit the letter keys.

Not sure what it is, but is it maybe because it's out of power or something?

I don't know if this covers it, but i found it on google.
"Shine a bright light into the screen at a slight angle while the laptop is running. If you can see a shadow of the image that should be displayed then the backlight isn't working any more. A competent shop should be able to replace the backlight tube or inverter for a decent price."

Is ther any typ eof reset screen button on your computer to reset the screen. And your sure its on, because laptop lights are also on when it is plugged into an AC Adaptor.
