Actually, there was an established fanbase and they did complain, as they've complained everytime something has gotten messed up with Sailor Moon. The whole anime scene wasn't as wide-spread, but it's been there for a long time.

I guess I meant "not as well established as Naruto is now?" My bad ^^'

I'm sorry, but I still beg to differ. Sailor Moon first came out in the 1990's and new musicals are still being produced as well as the live show ending recently. No offense to Naruto fans, but I think Sailor Moon's fanbase is a bit bigger and much more established. ;)

Heh, I agree. Many more people know of Sailor Moon than Naruto. There's no question about that. But this Haku thing is driving me off the wall. I can understand why, but why bother? Why not just make Haku and guy and get it over with? Plenty of guys have long hair.

Naruto is better suited for Adult Swim than Toonami. They would be able to get away with so much more.

That right there ruined my day.

Ahem
Jap Episode

Naruto:Hello Sister(being polite)

Later in the episode

Naruto: Bye sister
Haku: Actually, I'm a boy.
Naruto: what the heck?

Alright alright ^^ I guess I was just too young when Sailor Moon first came out and I was just basing my statement on my personal opinion :P

Yeah, Haku is a guy. I think once they tell you, it's pretty obvious. Maybe it's just me.

After we protest and threaten to burn them all down, perhaps we can have a badge with "I'm a guy : )" on it superimposed onto Haku.

The first few episodes with Haku, I was kinda confused. But that's just me. I'm suspicious of things. But yes, I could see him presenting a problem for some.

I'm reminded of people debating over if Edward (Cowboy Bebop) was a boy or a girl. :P

The beginning song isn't really one of my favourites but it is called No Boy, No Cry-Stance Punks.

To those who are interested, I picked up a couple things while looking at penel reports from AX. The Naruto dub that's showing on Cartoon Network (September 10th) is going to be "short on blood" (and keeping Sexy-no-jutsu), but the DVDs will be uncut. The dub director Marc Handler (previous work being Cowboy Bebop and FLCL), spoke saying that "he tried very hard to keep the accuracy of the original story, voice, names and personality of characters, etc.. intact" (although this wil change with whatever CN edits)
