Hello, don't know if anyone here can help me, but I'm really stuck.

A few years ago (maybe more like 5) I used to listen to Christian radio all the time. There was a song they played around Christmas time with a male soloist singing about the Hebrew children needing to be saved from Egypt and then he was backed up by this amazing children's choir. I don't know if they still play it, or what the title was, or who the artist is. Helpful, huh? Well, long story short, I'm now a music teacher and I'm trying desperately to find someone who knows the title of this song so I can find some music for it and have my students sing it for their Christmas program. I can't look it up online because I don't remember any of the actual lyrics either...

Hope someone here knows what the heck I'm talking about.

I listen to quite a bit of CCM actually.

The only one I can think of right now is "Christmas Shoes" by Newsong. :/
(which it probably wasn't it because I don't think it's 5+ years old).

I remember hearing a song about children with a children's choir, but I don't specifically remember Hebrew or Egypt in it. I heard it last Christmas, but I can't remember the lyrics either (and never knew the singer). I can only think of one we sang in middle school choir ("I will sing a song for a Russian child"), but I don't think that one was explicitly Christmas. That was also, shockingly, 17 years ago... Gah, I'm old.

Googling turned up an old African American spiritual with the phrase "Hebrew children," but that doesn't sound like what you want, either.

Sorry, this was a long, un-useful post...

Unfortunately I don't know what song you're talking about (though scarily enough When You Believe from the Prince of Egypt was the first thing to pop in my head).

That's kind of like the style of Michael W. Smith lately though. He released a Christmas cd last year that's AMAZING. In fact, my church choir director has us performing three of the songs from the album. One of them, Sing Noel, Sing Hallelujah might be a good choice if you can't find that other song (depending on how much religion you can actually get away with in the song). Maybe even Christmas Day but the kids don't sing as much in that. Regardless, it might be worth checking out some of his older Christmas music and see if that was one of them.

I dont think its the "Christmas Shoes" either because that's about a little boy trying to buy his mom shoes for christmas.

OOOOOH i just had a lightbulb moment.....there was one that used to be on a commercial that had kids singing and it was something about peace......

I think i need a new lightbulb...this one just went out.

I almost exclusively listen to CCM and I don't think I've heard that song myself, but I'll ask around at work and my church.

I'm sure if anyone would know that song it would be my pastor, I think he knows every CCM ever written lol.

Hmm.
When you said Hebrew children though, my first thought was Michael W. Smith's Someday (Set the Children Free)... o.o

I asked around at work today and the only answer I got was this song

Children Go Where I Send Thee

I searched the Lyrics I don't know if it's the song you want or not, but I'll still try to ask my Pastor if this isn't the one your looking for.

I didn't ask him tonight because he couldn't be at church tonight due to having to be at a conference for his job.

*giggle* Admittedly I love Peter Paul and Mary at Christmas time (okay... any time. They rock!).
