I haven't been on Neopets or PPT forums for around 3 months and I'm curious as to what I've missed

Well you just missed the Lost Desert Plot which dragged on for ages and then suddenly stopped when it wasn't expected.
At least one neopet has been released (Not sure if you were here in time for the hissi) - the Xweetok!
PS2 game was released and now advent calendar is accessible again.

So I didn't miss anything too big then, I was wondering if there had been a war or puzzle thing going on.

Well this last thing was kind of like a war and a puzzle. Only you had to do the puzzle to get the prize of a weapon. And only the people who got the weapon could vanquish Jazan's Dad. I didn't do the puzzle, it just wasn't fun to me. Too much work. But I guess it was fun if you like puzzles and I the prizes haven't been given out for that part yet. The weapons really weren't the prize at all.
Besides this there are lots of new colors of pets, new foods, and stuff. You could probably go to neoitems and do a search of all the new foods and items that have been released this year.
Also there was a day where there was a glitch and people were duplicating items. Be glad you weren't on that day because a lot of people got frozen for buying duped items. I don't know if some of them ever got their accounts back. I think most of the people here were warned in time though. For about a week none of us would buy anything. And I still wonder if there could be a few of those duped things floating around out in safety deposit boxes or some other place waiting to get us.

Heh, not too interesting? It was the best puzzle we've ever had, with both singular and group parts. The thread for it here at PPT was split 142 times.

I haven't been here for a while either. Gosh, am I glad I missed that day!

We had Neopet's B-day celebration where you can send flash game scores up to 5X a day. Discounted games, and birthday party bags falling out (in random events). It was very similar to last year.

yeah, I liked the puzzel. But at times it got fustrating when you were just refreshing cantsantly.

There was? I somehow managed not to notice. Man I gotta pay more attention.
As for the Lost Desert Plot - parts of it were good but other parts became really tedious (temple mapping and scroll reading and reading Skynetmain's theories).
