Recently, whenever the petpages have been down, it has also been impossible to disown a pet. You can go to the Abandon side of the pound now, but since I'm not disowning anything right now I can't tell for sure whether that feature is actually disabled.

You're always able to visit the disowning side.

However, when you click the buttons, the next page (the process page) is on petpages. So it's most likely down as well.

Thanks -- I'll adjust the subject line.

Disowning is confirmed as down. I just zapped my grundo and she became snow, so I was going to disown her so someone could adopt her. Ah well, it can wait.

This makes about five times in the last month that petpages have been down. It's not because they're working on them, because they aren't, otherwise they wouldn't go offline at midnight on a Friday.

I wonder what could possibly be constantly going wrong with those servers or their referrers?

Shapu, I don't understand this either - the petpages/pound being disabled on weekends. I know when a war starts, that usually plays havoc on petpages and lookups (I think they must all be on the same server?) ... maybe they're trying to work on something -- like putting the bd on a different server for the upcoming war and they're having problems getting things sorted?

But that doesn't explain the pound, I didn't think that was on the same server.

Whatever it is, it is a pain and a problem. Many people have petpages that they use for their guild, there's alot of help pages and no one can get to them if they do need help or information. Also makes trying to disown/adopt an exercise in futility.

Maybe the power for the petpages and home servers are just tied into the light switch for the office. They go home for the weekend, throw the switch - and that's all she wrote.

For whatever reason the pound is on the same server as petpages, seems to me like they are deliberately being taken down - they go offline as tnt leave the office on a friday and come back up when the news goes up on a monday most usually. For what reason I don't know but I guess tnt could be telling the truth when they said they were working on it... and now I see they've even taken down the page for reporting Adoption Center/Pet Page Problems or at least removed it from the menu and stripped it of content.

I don't know why but I think it's all deliberate o_O

It may very well be deliberate, but it would be nice if they would have warned us about it. But perhaps it's not intentional, and they just don't have anyone around on the weekends to fix it.

Whatever it is, I just hope it gets resolved soon. I have a Snow Grundo waiting to get a good home. (PM me if you want to know what time I'm posting him for adoption, which won't be, obviously, until disowning is back up.)
