Sooner or later, it was bound to happen. I'm just curious and want to see how it comes to an end.

The thing with Pokemon, was that I felt the movies were rushed and done badly... I thought that they were using the movies to make more money...

Now... if Neopets the movie actually has a plot (Finding Nemo... Incredibles)... some cool characters and good measure of humor... it could be viable... if it's not rushed...

I guess we'll see

Horrible thought - if this ends up being the "future" of "revamping oldskool characters that otherwise had nothing wrong with them in the first place", I truly hate to think what the bigwigs of WB are planning for Neopets. This crazy "extreme" style is being applied to a lot of comics in the industry too. I just pray (futile when you think about it, but that's just me) this won't end up the kind of style WB will apply to the movie.

If it does, I just buried my entire childhood in one mass grave...

Back on-topic, I'm going back to my praying that it doesn't suck and is not done "extreme" style.

There could also be the possibility that they can't talk about it yet, like part of the legal contract they signed.



Some people have said they like the idea and they hope the movie is done well. I, for one, would really like to see a Neopets movie. I've been looking forward to it for quite sometime now. If it's done well, there shouldn't be a problem. The problem is the very plausible chance that it will not turn out good. Animated or CG movies tread a thin line. If they're not done right, then they're corny. I hope this project is given to the right people and it turns out to be a good movie.



Yes, it will make money. I think after working on a site like Neopets for five and a half years, Adam and Donna deserve a bit. No matter how little, they will be getting a share from this movie and I think good for them. I bet if a lot of people were in their shoes, they'd do what they could to make money, if chances were their project would bring in loads, too.



That's not such a good idea. It's just not cool. If people are going to go through all the work to make this movie, you shouldn't cheat them all out because you are upset about the way a pet site is run. Once it's a movie, it's not just TNT you are screwing out, it's everyone who worked on that movie. I think once it goes to theaters, they deserve every sent they get. If you don't want to see it, fine. I'd rather Neopets, Inc. got all the money it wanted if it meant a better web site and more employees to work on it.

To all the people that say they are quitting, think on it a bit. Isn't that a little rash? What if the movie actually turns out to be good? Even if it's not, we've weathered through promotion stunts before, we'll get through this. If the site is laggy after the movie because of all the new members, they'll have a bit more money to speed it up again. I just think Neopets needs a little more faith.

Even though I'm a bit worried about the quality of the movie and what it will do to the site, I'm also proud of where Neopets has come from it's humble beginning. I've played since January 2000 and so much has changed. You have to make mistakes sometimes to learn and make things better, eh?

Hmm, wait. You all say you hate the idea of a movie. But why? Other than citing past game-to-movie flops, there really isn't any reason why you should hate it even before you know what it will be like.

I for one though, will not be watching it (I never ever watch cartoons in cinema anyway). If you hate it, boycott it and don't watch it. Simple.

I, for one hope it can be like Monster, Inc. or Ice age. We will just have to wait and see how it turns out to be though i am not exactly optismistic about it.

I dont like it because i know it won't be all that great. There isnt all that much to write about yet, and it wont be like old neopets, it will be humans walking around with dog heads and kau heads.... like when the idea of pokemon came out (150 pokemon... trying to catch them all and make them stronger and evolve them all and earn lots of badges!) you cant really make a movie out of that. its too wide range. Eventually, they developed a storyline through the t.v. show itself that created actual charactors, that werent just made up and thrown in there for a movie, but because they were allready good charactors. We also knew exactly what the setting was like in the "pokemon world" and what different personalities were like. We also knew what type of conflicts there are, and what we wanted to see in the end..... there is already a storyline, and they built off of that... it made a good movie! (im only talking about the first one now).... it was a good time to make a movie.... they waited on it.

I think that neopets is NOT ready for a movie.
They are a game.... a website... they dont really have a storyline. Right now, its "A bunch of different species that can learn to get more powerful and by weapons and fight each other.... and...they eat....and live in neohomes.... and... can clean themeselves... and collect things.... " ok, i dont even know how to end that statement really. I really just dont think they are ready for a movie... they are going way out of their league! I was scared at the first sign of things that were neopets related that you could buy.... then it got worse and worse. They started making McDonalds toys....cell phone features.... neopet slushies... a video game... i could just see it building up. Once they had one shot of popularity, they started to run with it and are now trying to do everything they can even though they arent really developed for that yet. They are making a movie now. I think its just too far. They are going soooo fast that there isnt much else to go to. What are YOU guys going to wait for? Neopets Cereal? Neopets bubblebath and toothpaste? Neopets the sountrack? eh.... im done typing.... sorry or thankyou if you read all of this.

But what if the movie does turn out good? It doesn't have to be all about the pets. It could have a plot like Meridell. I think a Meridell movie would be very cool. TNT has come up with some good stories, even though they haven't come through on them.

TNT won't be writing this anyway, probably. I'd guess there will be people working with the studio and whoever is incharge of the project at Neopets working together. This isn't exactly something they can do halfway now that a major studio is involved.

My problem would be more with the type of person that might join after the movie is out, rather then the movie itself.

Don't get me started on the movie. I'm not happy about it. For starters the press releases have the evil capital P that I thought I killed in 2000.

Um, no, actually. I am waiting to make my decision of whether I like it or not. I'm waiting to see the previews to see what the plot is, and how good the animation and stuff is.

I feel it is only fair to Neopets, and to Warner Brothers, to wait and see before deciding whether I like or hate.
