does the auction take your neopoints?

not obvious from the title, but does the auction house take the neopoints from you stash or a "safe-keeping" effect (like how the trading post does) i dont seem to remember it doing so, but i guess it could be a new thing.
because if it doesnt ive just lost about 10k bidding on "new" (i was outbid last second on all six lots)

seems it does, (ive just gotten my neopoints back as the auctions finalised) when did this happen?

I think it happened a while ago, before that I think if you dont have the money on hand, the auction goes to the second highest bidder and so on.

But since I dont auction, I think they did it well over a year ago. Not sure though...

It takes your Neopoints as soon as you bid just like the trading post

Quite horrific when bidding for high costing items... very hard to try overbid other people (or bidding twice)!
