I found this petpage: http://home.neopets.com/templates/homep ... ame=c4rlos and it showed how someone innocent was frozen because they were sent pb - it sounds like it was a deliberate move to get this person in trouble.

Jamie, I am just curious, how do you know that whatever was done has been patched or fixed? Just wondering, that's all.

Kudos to staff for finally getting whatever it was (I heard it was something java? ... but I'm clueless on this stuff) that allowed the duping. I do have to wonder why it wasn't "patched" before. This isn't the first time things have been duped, but it's just the first time just about anything and everything down to omelettes and snowballs was duped.

I personally still think a rollback for last night would be in order from right before this all started. I'm going to guess there would be a way to do this - the servers must have RAID so legitimate things have less chance of being lost. These duped items have to be gotten off the site. No one knows if, say, a week or even a month from now one of us won't go to buy something and end up with a leftover duped item -- and end up iced for it. Plus, some things were used - pb and neggs. That is definitely an unfair advantage; people who knew what was going on still grabbed neggs and fed their battle pets for stats. People who knew still grabbed those pb and painted pets.

I know, a rollback will affect a great many of us, but it would help I think in getting the dupes out of the system and roll the false paint jobs/stats away too.

Shopping? I plan to basically do none from usershops/trades/auctions for awhile. I may try to hone my very new and pathetic rs'ing skills? (hahaha) and just buy some things from main shops, stash them in my shop or sdb until things are more settled and people are trusting that it's ok to shop again.

I don't think there is a way to tell which have been fixed. TNT really should put something in the news about this. I think TNT have claimed to fix the problem which has started this all. But there are no doubt alot of items still in circulation. People are also saying that 1np items are now being duped. More chance of being picked up. I thought it would have been fixed by now >.<

OK, just my two cents.

Some of you think it perfectly OK to keep the duped items you received as gifts and/or rushed out to buy. Just because you haven't been frozen yet, doesn't mean they won't get to you sooner or later.

To me, a BD item, no matter how expensive, would not be worth the risk of losing my accounts and all of the accounts on my IP address (meaning family members). They did freeze people last night who had randomly received duped items as gifts and who got duped items in return for trades.

My guess is that TNT's first priority was to stop as many people as they could last night. Their second priority was to create a patch. Now they will turn their attention to deleting the duplicate items. And perhaps freezing that person who, instead of putting it on the TP and kindly asking TNT to delete it, is playing with it in the Battledome.

It is one thing to be an innocent person who doesn't realize that an item was duped. It is quite another to have knowledge that the item most likely was duped and continue to keep it, despite that knowledge. I have a feeling that TNT will not look too kindly on those type of people.

ssandgirls got frozen recently for accepting a trade from a scammer. In that topic, I gave her a few pointers on what worked for me when I wrote letters concerning my family members' frozen accounts. Her account was promptly unfrozen after she sent her letter.

A rollback is sort of like going back to the past in a time machine. They would reset the game at a point prior to the time that the duped items were released. So, it would be as if nothing from the point in time forward had happened.

What can I say, TNT prefers to sweep problems under the rug.

Well I don't think that was very nice...you just put someone in danger of being frozen, since that tear you got was most likely duplicated.

ye, the tear was duplicated, that guys shop had like 5 tears, 10 FSS, some bow of destiny, 1 h4000000000 helmet all for 99k

i went to my bank, and got out some money, about a tear, was about to buy a fss, but then the item no longer was there

and besides, how do i know if the swords of skarsden is dupliacted

and i bought my tear more than 24 hrs ago, and i have not been frozen and even traded it for a swords of skarsden

there is not way TNT can find all people who have duped items

i could have waited for 5 months and then sell off my tear for 40 million nps, but i just did it fast cause maybe my tear might get deleted

Great! So basically you cheated, buying and trading knowing that the t-tear was duped and now you've bragged about it. You know, there's a good chance that the SOS you got is also duped. There IS a section about this in the T&C, so if you get frozen for this don't be surprised. Just about anyone who's tried selling/trading/auctioning duped items has been. And I think that's the way it should be. No one should be profiting from this mess. Just because you weren't caught yet doesn't mean you won't be.

Even people who've just been sent something and put it on the tp with a note to TNT have been frozen, though that seems to be the minority. Mostly, those people, being honest, are just having the items deleted and a nice neomail from TNT. The people who got something, either buying/money tree/being sent who equip their pets (weapons)/use (pb/neggs) or put in their sdb or otherwise try to use/sell them? Bye bye.

I've been watching auctions and seeing things just vanish. So far, people bidding on those auctions are getting their np back.

There's still alot of items on the site. As Michelle pointed out, even junk. This is clearly being done to disrupt the site. Almost no one is buying or selling anything. What's odd is there haven't been (unless I'm missing them all) very many restocks in the main shops.

Clearly, I was fully in favor of some sort of rollback. At this point, I don't think they'll do one. It's just going to be a long, slow, hard job for staff to try to ferret the duped items out, as well as finding all the people involved. And it's going to be awhile before things get back to "normal" for the rest of us.

I've noticed that too. The restocks I have seen have aslo been only a few items too. Hmm...
I hope this dies down soon.
