I don't know about you, but for me the training school almost ALWAYS asks for one of those two when I'm training Endurance or Strength. All those cheap Bris and Lus are sitting in my SDB feeling unloved.

I read the TNT battledome paragraph as being serious, but you never know.

Great, it's been delayed until I've mustered onboard the ship again and have gone back to the old half an hour of internet per day and no copying and pasting ability. I just love the computers at work. /sarcasm.

It really is a bummer though, I will have a hard time identifying my constellation when I can't copy and paste the star data.

Ouch. Big ouch.

Does anyone have any ideas why these codestones are so high? I mean I know there is the possiblity of war, and i personally agree with it, but I've never seen 2 codestones so high for no reason.

Tue May 30, 2006 6:46 pm

Some of the other codestones aren't as high as that. I searched for Tai-Kai and Orn before and both were around 4k. o_O Strange

Why can't you copy and paste? Could you use the keyboard controls instead of the mouse, if that is the problem?

You could use an on-screen keyboard. In the start menu go to accessories, then accessibility, and it will be in that menu. (in windows)

Ctrl + A is Select All
Ctrl + C is Copy
Ctrl + V is Paste

I'm still on the water plant thing and it is making me crazy as a coconut. I even tried the mad plumber method, though I guess there's some step I'm forgetting or something because it isn't making any sense to me or working properly (I guess).

I use Firefox, so I did tabs. I opened room 1 in two windows, room 2 in three windows, and room 3 in three windows. Then I copied each URL into the tabs, one URL per tab, in order. Then I hit refresh once--and suddenly those links I pasted in are gone! Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I'm thinking of giving up on Altador. No imaginary rewards are worth this absurd kind of stab-in-the-dark g\uessing at all. All it does is just give me a headache...and make me think that perhaps TNT are sitting there in their offices just going  at silly little peons like me. (Possibility)

Then you hit refresh once? I am not sure what this means. Did you refresh all windows at once? (This is against the rules, by the way, so be careful here.) The aim is to refresh all of them orderly or randomly, for instance, one after the other, or in any order you would like. I am not sure why your pasted links are disappearing. Try using your Go button after the address/URL in your browser, at first, then make sure to refresh using the actual keyboard key or refresh button on your browser, so the *actions* are repeated (using the link above the pics will only refresh the room, not the action, which appears to be meaningless for those spending hours and days on this puzzle). Feel free to PM me if you need more help. :) (PS--If I don't respond right away, I went to the store and will brb.)

And don't worry, this method was made for those ready to give up. And I am willing to help you fix that plant, too. You will still be laughing last. ;)

I hit refresh once IN EACH WINDOW, in order from left to right, and then as I was going to go do it again, I realized that it was just refreshing the room again, without any changes made from the first time. I proceeded to say an expletive. What I did was just paste the URLs in and NOT hit go or anything. Maybe I should hit go first, and then refresh the pages, and then say an expletive again because with my luck it probably won't work...However, thank you for the advice.

Hmm, yes it sounds like you are doing everything correctly, unless I am also missing something in your description of events? Perhaps Firefox doesn't like this method? Orca Browser is similar to Firefox (and Avant to IE) so if FF doesn't accept this method, you can always try the others.

And yes, I would click the Go first to insure your browser is accepting the change of an *action* first, as you presumed, then use the keyboard or browser refresh button to repeat those actions as you like. Apparently the nice convenient links above the pictures (seemingly added to encourage folks to "notice changes") are virtually meaningless to those of us left here.

http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Or ... 28532815/1 (Orca)

http://www.avantbrowser.com/ (Avant)

EDIT: I suppose it is also possible that your Firefox is repeating the actions, but loading pics from cache? I always had problems with this in Firefox and is one of many reasons I don't use it. But many FF users have had no trouble, so it is possible you can simply change your history or cache settings to *zero* or as close to it, to ensure your picture changes. You should still be able to fix the plant, but it is nice to see the actions change and the pictures change so that you are sure you are correct. :)

i was beginning to think that i had entered the wrong topic, seeing as how people were discussing codestones, glad it didn't last long. i can't wait for the update, i'm caught up, and i was afraid that the last clue had come out while i was camping over the holiday weekend, i had to ask my brother to stay on the lookout for me, just so i wouldn't miss out.

WRONG. I give up. This is the dumbest waste of time I've ever bothered with (aside from my ex). I don't want to waste away in front of my computer box, pressing refresh over and over again because clearly TNT are a bunch of sadists who like watching us struggle with this. I did the "hit go before refreshing" thing and, sure enough, it did keep the URL of the &action things there this time. I also cleared my cache, which meant there was a little suspense as the images loaded because I foolishly thought I was being led to the redirect "Yay, you fixed it" page (at least twice). So, anjuna, I'm sorry that I was a lost cause.

Y'all make sure to tell me what the prizes are at the finish of this little mini-plot. It was fun (up until now), so a little bit of me is disappointed that I won't get to the end. But that little bit is eclipsed by a huge bit that thinks this is plain stupid.

And the whole codestone price inflation because people are being Chicken Littles about an upcoming "war" that may never even exist is a phenomenon that would look best in an economics textbook (which is good because I'm taking econ next year). Just thought I'd add my $.02 to that. By the way, is it only some kinds of codestones, or all of them?

Where is mah party posse? We need some extra hearts in here, me thinks.

(PMing you for intense one-on-one help. I beg you not to give up. It is what "they" want! Don't let them deter you from prevailing.)
