For the water plant: I don't think the solution is in the ending position of the valves and switches. I think you have to do something in the correct order .. like fill this bucket, drain it, and then fill this drain.

Either way I can't figure it out. Except maybe i have, because I NEVER SCROLLED DOWN to see if I got the happy message.

That situation was exactly what happened to me. It could play a part, who knows. I also used SS SSU UUU to flood the city, but changed one of the levers in the third room.

Yeah, for a lot of people it seems that flooding the city in between each attempt at a winning combo is key...if you just stay in the rooms clicking randomly hoping for a winning combo it doesn't seem to work.

And the code to flood Altador is the same for everyone, correct? That would be ++, ++U, UUU. If anyone has found a different combo for flooding, please post it...

You'll know if you got it, because a different picture will show up of the plant workers in the front, with confetti in the air and everything.

++U? room one has 2 valves

So, when I flip/turn the last item to make things "good", a picture of the happy workers displays instead of the inside of the water room I was in? I don't have to do anything to check?

Pattern for the waterworks

Sat May 13, 2006 10:52 pm

I fixed the waterworks...by messing with things, looking for patterns, etc., until I couldn't stand it, giving up, going to play some games, and deciding to give the waterworks one last try before logging off. W00t!

And I have now noticed a pattern. A lot of people who succeeded at the waterworks had one of two things happen:

1. They went in, clicked a few things, and it worked.
2. They went in, clicked for way too long with nothing happening, gave up, left (sometimes overnight, sometimes shorter times), came back, clicked a few things, and it worked.

Could it be that the key is to leave? In other words, if you don't fix it within ten clicks or so, go away and come back later, and it will work?

Whoops, sorry...I meant "++" for the first room...edited my post :oops:

Y'know it's a shame there's no furniture in the archives. Maybe they could find some cheap down in Sakhmet, I hear there were over 200,000 pieces of cheap library furniture down there in the Big Lots.

I'm not saying TNT would ever try the same dirty trick twice, but I keep checking the damn yurble's toenails for some kind of water-plant-combination revealing pattern. I got my water plant running by sheer dumb luck in about 30 seconds, but my inner Lenny says there's gotta be some way to logic it out.

Yep. Once you've set it all right, you'll be treated to some confetti witht he workers. Nothing else to do.

My hypothesis worked!!! Its proven for myself anyhow.
I just kept changing it into various combinations that I had found that ellicit changes. Yay! I saved Altador too!

I believe that certain positions make changes for everybody... it's just that different people get different combinations of positions.. it might be okay to change positions to ones that don't make any changes, which could explain discrepancies.

Known positions that make changes that I found:
room=1: ++
room=2: +xu, x+d, x+u, ++d, xxu
room=3: uuu, duu, udu, ddu

If one assumes that one must do the rooms in order then the total known number of possible working combinations would be cut down to:
3 rooms x 1(in room1) x 5 (room2) x 4 (room3) = 60

I did not include combinations found by others because I cannot confirm by experiment that that combination was the one the caused the change.

Actually, I spent 2 hours clicking on things until I got mine to work. Flooded Altador once in the first hour.

For all of you that can't seem to find the right combo for the water plant i suggest that after you move something look in each of the rooms and see if something changed i know this sounds like it may take a long time but i solved it in less than 10 minutes...compared to some that have been trying for HOURS...

so give it a try ;)

P.S. i hope i didn't scare you lol and i i'm not mad btw hehe

so give me a hug! :hug:

That worked for me, less than 10 minutes. Lol, but whoever said it was like a bad version of Myst is right!

I guess I got really lucky. When it came to the valves and such, I flooded it once, and then clicked to valves after that and it worked. so now what? we just wait again? 'cause... hmm.

will anything more happen with you tomb, you think?

Sun May 14, 2006 12:24 am

i at first thought i would not flood the city and tried every combo possible and nuffin would happen, so out of frustration i flooded the city, went back to the office and the first combo i set wasa winner, so maybe one really should flood it first
