they gotta look somewhere...

The orb around the Statue in Old Maraqua is called Jerdana's Orb.

Also, reading through the wikipedia article, it seems that the suffixe of each Guardian's name is the name of their constellation (the gems).

And I think that the star in the Hall Of Heroes is 12 pointed because there are 12 Guardian Statues, and each statue has a point at it.
Ahoy! It looks like we're in for another plot! Updated information should be posted here!

Just follow the steps and have fun along the ride!

======== Links of interest =========
First Thread: http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24856
Altador: http://www.neopets.com/altador/index.phtml?

(Note: Make sure you click CONTINUE (if applicable) when you have completed each part!)
========= The Beginning ============
1. Click the big castle in the center of the map, The Hall of Heros
2. In the very back-right corner, you'll see a familiar character. Click him!
3. Hey! It's our old friend again. Looks like he has a new job-- Janitor. Click that button that's next to him.
---> Hm, nothing happened.
4. Oh well, Now click the Altadorian Archives, then go into the doorway on the right.
5. Click the book that is under one of the table legs and balancing it.
---> Hm, we're going to have to replace it...
6. Now go to the QUARRY. And find a rock that'll be suitable. Stumped? Here.
---> Aha! A good replacement for that book...
7. Go back to the Altadorian Archives and click that same book again.
---> We can access the book now! (Located near the top-right part of the scene)
8. You can read the prologue from that book now.
---> Advance a page by clicking the top-right of the book, go back by clicking the top-left.
*** Page 1~3 Acquired! *** (out of 53 pages)
9. Go back to the Janitor in The Hall of Heros and talk to him.
---> Hm. We're going to need something to help oil some gears...
10. Click each statue until you find a bottle of oil & a rag
---> Note: Location is different for each person. Perhaps you should write where you found it, just in case.
11. Once you've found it, go back to the Janitor and click the button again.
---> The ceiling opens up! Let there be LIGHT!

======= Enlightenment =========
Alright, so here are points of interests now.
* On the left side of The Hall of Heros, there is now a staircase leading up to a dome-shaped room. Looks like a telescope is missing.
* Although using "http://www.neopets.com/altador/archives.phtml?board=6" once got you to the Astronomy Club, it NO LONGER WORKS.
* If you click each statue in The Hall of Heros, on the very top section of the picture of the statue, you can look up, and get some arrangement of gems. The following are the same for EVERYONE, here is the breakdown:
- 20 above King Altador
- 22 above Jerdana
- 22 above Siyana
- 22 above Kelland
- 19 above Florin
- 18 above Torakor
- 19 above Darkest faerie
- 22 above marak
- 16 above fauna
- 20 above Psellia
- 17 above Gordos
- 19 above Sasha
--> As well as a helpful compilation of the pictures by soymimi here

Any additions/corrections should be posted here.
Kade, once the ceiling has opened up, go to any of the twelve statues, and click on it. Then, click at the very top of the statue's image and you should get taken to the gems.

Comparison between the images above the statues and the relating cards. Nothing of real intrest, but fun none the less.
Or maybe I'm just weird and like doing stuff like this, even if it doesn't have much of a point. xD;

Anyway, I found mine on my second click, behind Sasha, going counter-clockwise from King Altador. :3

aris- wow, I figured something out, in the observatory when you look up at the night sky you see a constellation, that constellation forms the Hunter's bow. What could it mean??

Sat Mar 18, 2006 5:41 pm

Oh, yeah, I was going counter-clockwise when I found the oil. That probably doesn't matter if our statues were preassigned, though....

Comparison between the images above the statues and the relating cards.

Ooh, pretty pictures. 8) That page brings up an interesting point: what if the constilations really correspond to a statue other than the one they're hanging over?

I already looked through al of the cards, and none of them correspond to the constellation you see in the observatory.

I found my oil and rag behind Marak, the Wave. Cute little water horse!

Anyway, I think I'll actually do this plot. It looks like fun. :)

theonlysaneone wrote:About the compiled image... I think it would be a little more realistic reversed, because if you stand facing King Altador and look up, the Darkest Faerie's would be at the top of your view (behind you), and the King's would be at the bottom (in front of you). You might have to stop and picture it for a second, but I hope that made sense.

I considered flipping it but I'm not sure how that would affect things. As long as we know what statue is where (which is why I labeled it) I think the flipping would be trivial.

Alright, time to catch up with what I missed while sleeping... ;-)

In case anyone was wondering, I found my oil rag behind Sasha the Dancer. I'm doing that more for my own personal record than to tell people. (In case I forget, I can just look back here).

umm

Sat Mar 18, 2006 6:20 pm

I got Gordos, the collector on my 4th time going counter clockwise... I think i'm the only person that has mentioned getting the oil rag by this statue...

I havent taken part in a plot before, I was on neopets like 5 years ago and now i've just started again about 8 months ago... Just thought i'd say so haha.... Peace....

Jerdana, the Protector for me :) So cute.
I thought it was pretty easy to follow so far, so that's great!
I'm liking this plot so far.
Love the statues!
