I think this new toolbar is messing up with my old neopets toolbar. When I click to disable the "neopets" toolbar, it disable the "yahoo" one. And when I click to disable the "yahoo" toolbar, it do it for the "neopets" one...

How did you all download it? I keep getting this when I click "toolbar"

Ooops!!

We are sorry but the Neopets / Yahoo! Toolbar is currently not available for your country or language. Please check back later for further updates as we will be adding a way for everyone to get the Bori offer soon!

Am I too late?

Does the Yahoo toolbar only work on IE? I don't want another toolbar on IE, I'm quite happy with the Google toolbar.

Oh I love this. I would have downloaded it even without the prizes.

**copy/pastes her comment from the news post about it on the main PPT page**

"I installed it. I like it. It's simply the Yahoo Companion toolbar (which I've already been using for over a year) with an added Neopets button (which is convenient).
From left to right, it has a Neopets button, a Yahoo button, an Edit button (if you're logged into Yahoo, you can customize the toolbar to show the buttons on the right in whatever order you like), a Yahoo Search bar, a popup blooker, a spyware blocker, and buttons to various parts of Yahoo (Mail, Games, Launch, News, etc.)
I've always found the Yahoo companion bar convenient for me to use because I use Yahoo mail, Yahoo search, etc. Having a direct link to Neopets there is a wonderful bonus.
It's not spyware and it's not a virus.
I believe it can be uninstalled by going to Add/Remove Programs."

For anyone who can't see the Neopets icon on their toolbar: Just visit Neopets. Then close the window and start Internet Explorer again. The Neopets icon should appear on the far left of the bar.

I haven't tried the Neopets toolbar. I do know that the last time I tried to upgrade Shockwave, the newer version has sneakily added the yahoo toolbar into the download. My ISP would not tolerate the yahoo toolbar. Started getting all sorts of pop ups, then ran my spybot and it did find a few trackers. Once I found and uninstalled the yahoo toolbar bits, everything seems to work fine. Though after writing to Macromedia, they suggest I uninstall shockwave, d/l the stand alone version and install that. Haven't gotten around to it yet.

Didn't work! Any other suggestions? I want that little Neopets star!

This is outrageous. I can understand small prizes like 500np for sponsor programs, but forcing people to download things they dont want, and which are a security risk (im pretty sure the yahoo toolbar contains backdoors into your system exploited by a variety of dialers, spyware and malware programs. And lets remember, it may be UNDER add/remove programs, but these sort of free sponsor programs and toolbars rarely if ever have decent uninstalls, you're lucky if more than half of it is actually removed. I'm NOT installing potentially dangerous (and completely unwanted and unneeded) software on my pc. Neopets are getting worse and worse with their advertising, I almost think that going premium and removing all sponsorship would be better now... :/

They are not FORCING you to download anything, if you don't want it, you can just simply not download it.

And if you choose not to download it, you're not missing out on much.
1,000 NP is barely anything.
The Frozen Paint Brush will probably be worth very little within a few months.
Several Borii (that's my preferred plural =P) will probably end up in the pound able to be adopted.
The Bori will either become a regular pet or a regular limited edition pet within a few months.

frozen pb? that's a new one to me! Hmm. The Bori is for real? oh well, I'm saving a space for a jetsam :)

Everyone wants you to get their toolbar - Neo, ebay, yahoo, google, etc. There's a zillion! My screen is crowded enough with my ISP's toolbar, and I have my favorites, so none of the "extras" really mean that much. Some extra re's would be nice (I hardly ever get any besides the neobadge one), but eh, no biggie.

the regular yahoo toolbar, at least for me, showed tracking - spybot picked it up. Depending on your security/cookie handling, check out the new shop on the site ;)

I got it to work! I did have to restart my computor, though. Perhaps those of you who want it and have IE should do that?
