So I'm guessing it's now safe to go back to my shopping?

And thanks for all the info dolphinling, seeing as neopets never say when a problem is going on or when it is fixed it's great to know what's going on!

I believe you are right Trick. We all owe dolphinling a great debt of thanks.

In your honor I shall name my first born son after you... Actually I already have a name picked out for that eventuallity. Next dog? No, I have lined up for that too... Next cat! No, I have a name there. Well, if I ever get a fish, rodent, or pygmy marmoset, your name will live on. Poses nobly.

Thanks again.

I was first to figure out the SDB problem on Saturday and made a bunch of boards on the HC and BDC trying to get TNT's attention. Eventually they fixed it and deleted all of my posts along with clearing my shoyru's petpage which had screenies proving that was how it was done (Some peopole didn't believe me, I did not actually show the CGing code, just how it was added to the SDB)

I'm kind of miffed because TNT could have at least aknowledged me...

Thank you tremendously for posting on the neoboards and bringing it to people's attention. I'd been searching forever, and hadn't found any concrete information until I was pointed to one of your boards. In the end I had to contact TNT directly, and it was passed on to whoever was responsible.

Unfortunately I don't think being miffed will be too productive; TNT doesn't seem to like giving acknowledgements for anything of that sort. There's probably some legal reason for it, or if not I can at least see how it would present a bad image that they really don't want. In the end it's best to be happy you made it get fixed faster and saved lots of people from losing what they had, and let neopia be the cheerful, happy world it was intended to be. (Or at least, that's the view I've taken after having reported other, similar things to them.)

And if anyone was wondering, this is in fact the person whose neoboard posts I saw that explained things to me. He deserves just as much if not more praise than I do. :)

Whether it's happening again or not, I don't know. What I do know with my limited technical knowledge is that once you've been cg'ed unless you change your password you're vulnerable. Just clearing your cookies isn't enough - the cg'er already HAS the information. So they could, for whatever reason, wait days or even weeks to get into your account.

I think TNT should have put something in the news, just a general reminder to change your password, or even better, after you log in, get a message or be sent to a page saying you need to change your password and check your email addy. I know a few sites that do that about every 3 months or so just to make people change their words regularly.

Oh for the love of Pete's dragon. :x

I concur. I've been getting a handful of random events reminding me to change my PW, but they're random events, and I don't think that's an acceptable way for TNT to remind us of this issue.

Really, the least TNT should be doing is making their users (especially their paying customers) aware of the issue. That I have to keep finding out that cookie grabbers are running rampant from fansites (no matter how good and reputable), rather than the company itself, is unacceptable.
