I had luckily taken screen shots of the traps I fell into when we were getting the tablet pieces ... so I have a list of traps I can hit if need be. yay me!

To all of you struggling to get the second crystal: I suggest turning to the gods. It may have been my really good, Milfeulle-level luck, but I was praying to the goddess Isis right before I was allowed back into the temple. My light time is right now, so I was hoping so much since I would be able to get light until this time tomorrow, but I got the spike trap! I have never been so proud to have the world's greatest and kindest goddess put me in such harm... Actually, it could have been my prayers to Buddha as well, so say a 'Namu Amida Butsu' too. It never hurts to be diverse.
Edit: Now to figure out what the heck it all means.

Ok, a headache with stress over this plot is not a good combination. No one else is having a problem with finding the secret passage except me! The passage is on the 5th floor right? And if so, how do you get to the 5th floor in the first place? I think I'm on the fourth floor at the moment...Please help x.x;

Just an observation:
Everyone who's posted their secondary specrtum has exhibited the following pattern:
first spectrum: 12 stripes: four red, four yellow, four blue, four blank
second spectrum:
In all examples, it takes the first spectrum and turns a random 8 of the primaries into secondaries (orange, purple, green). The colors remain in the same positions, including the blank spots, but 8 random stripes from the first spectrum have a seemignly random second color added to them to create a secondary color.
So... if you have a lot of time to kill (like I do) waiting on your "light" you can always look up the locations for your current spectrum on your repainted card catalog, because if it works similarly to the first card catalog, at least four of of your spectrum color/positions will go unchanged.
Err, does that make sense? It does to me, but I'm a little punchy.

What's this about only "four scrolls"? 
I thought you had to read all 12 colour/symbol combinations??

Just a question for those who have tried multiple things with the 2nd sequence.
Firstly the scroll rack is only the 3 colors, but the contents inside has changed.
Has anyone used the 1st sequence of colors to determine the placement of the scrolls..
Then when they get there, then read the scrolls according to the 2nd sequence.?.

ah dial up, the bane of neopians everywhere 
what you can do once finding out the positions of your scrolls is to use the apple petpage and map out the shortest ways from one point to the next

Haven't tried that yet - will do so now
Edit: Before I do so, why would the catalog have changed if we had to use the first lot of colour scroll thingies?

you'll see a way to the fifth floor.. when you are on the fifth floor go all the way to the right and all the way down,the last block is where the hidden staircase is

holy crap...my 2nd crystal just vanished from my item list #$$@$@%$
and i cant get another 1 again from reentering the tomb ....guess i have to wait for the next spike attack from the tomb again after the lock out

FYI - I just tried the only reading the scrolls that are the same colors/spots, which for everyone seems to be 4?
There is no red Ben in the section noted on my new red Card Catalog (I'm in the basement - catacombs, section dust) ... so I do believe I was completely off the mark on that theory. Sorry folks, I really hoped that was it.
