The sidebar is not even that pleasing to my eyes, but the 'quest' of obtaining it is driving me mad, lol.

I've got it

I did:
Watch all advent calendar animations.
Got all the advent calendar items from this year.
Got a bunch of snow and snowball items in my inventory and SDB.
Even amount of neopoints.

I did not:
Got a xmas pet/petpet
Done a snow faerie quest.
Donate a item to the money tree.
Donate to tombola.

That is so true - I did everything I could think of to 'meet' the requirements. I was even starting to panic as it got close to 12am, just in case I didn't get it.

My daughter was sitting beside me and she thought I was insane to be so happy about getting it. (She didn't get it).

The quest for it was quite a strain and not knowing what the requirements are is still going to bug me even though I have it.

i did NOT get it.
Things i did:
xmas pet as main pet
had snow balls and advent items in inventory
had 7,802 neopoints on hand
got the 'replace' error

Things i didnt:
no xmas petpet attached to it
collect ever day bought ones i missed
sent a xmas card
send a gift

I GOT IT!! My heart was pounding as I went in. I had one of each item in my SDB. Hold on, lemme get my check off list.

This is exactly what I did:
-I did collect everyday and made sure I had at least 1 of each Advent item in my SDB
-Had exactly 500np on hand
-Equipped a Christmas Petpet
-Had a snowball and snowflake in my inventory
-I had Attack Pea Avatar equipped
-I put some older advent items in my shop, neohome, inventory, and gallery
-have the default sidebar on
-watched all the animations in full
-equipped snowball and snowflake
-I sold an advent item
-I donated an advent item
(after that I made sure to buy them back to have a complete set)
-I visited the money tree
-I played winter/snow games
-my main pet was cheerful the others were also happy
-I sent a winter greeting
-I had a winter shop keeper
-i visited the snowager

Can you tell I really wanted the sidebar?

Nope, I was using the Altador sidebar when I got it.

Default sidebar is the yellow one - everyone has it.

I was using the Happy Valentine's Day sidebar when I collected the prizes. Before that I had been using the Haunted Woods sidebar.

I doubt the sidebar has anything to do with it.

Well, I got it and I've been using the same avatar for quite some time, but that seems sort of unlikely to me.

I also was using the Altador sidebar.

Oh, and to provide an additional data point towards laying that rumor to rest, I did not have anything with "Snow" or "Ice" in my inventory (although I did have 2 things with "Holiday" in my inventory.)

Winter scratchcards have been mentioned- I received a Race to Riches card from the Snowager yesterday (and won 10K), and I received a winter RE on the AC page both yesterday and the day before. I had just over 4K when I visited, and I routinely donate to the Money Tree. I've been using the same avatar for a couple of months now, and I was using the Valentine's Day sidebar when I received the winter one. My sister had given me an Icy Snowflake a few days before (which is now in my gallery), and I had no snowballs in my inventory nor equipped. I don't have an Xmas pet, but I do have an Xmas Petpet equipped (a Polarchuck). Oh, and I also have the White Ona we received as an AC prize equipped on one of my pets. Also, I did my dailies today before going to the AC, although I went did them after collecting my presents every other day this month.

I had something happy,snow but I don't know about icy.I got it.
