I'm joining the rest of the people who love them but instead of liking the poses the most, I like the look the best. The female one is my favorite but I think they are both great. Of course there are plenty of pets I don't like that everyone else likes. :D

I think they are both well drawn, and have a definite regal look to them. I don't, however, like the color choices, it blends too well, and does look monochromatic.

Well I have to agree with the majority here. I like the royal kyriis. Mostly because the poses are hilarious and I like goatees. XD Although I admit my liking of them may very well have to do with the fact that they don't look much like the regular kyriis. Big headed weasels with mullets just don't do it for me.
But then again, I never have any intention of owning one. They're amusing, but not really my thing.

Honestly, I could make a million threads on how I don't like such-and-such pets, but that doesn't mean I should or will.
The kyriis are new, well-drawn and, in my personal opinion, absolutely faboo. The lines are thin, they're proportionate and consistant from pose to pose. If you want to complain about something, complain about the mutant uni.

Exactly. And the faerie uni, the normal peophins, and the ugly orange on all purple pets. Where's the threads for those? ;)

I wouldn't slam someone for voicing an opinion. When I first saw the Kyriis I thought they had been revamped because their faces didn't look like the usual kyrii face. While i'm not necessarily a fan of the royal look or kyriis in general, I think overall the art is done very well and with lots of imagination.

But, and I'm not trying to backseat mod here, this really belongs in the Updates thread, doesn't it? o-o;

No it doesn't. This thread is for the singular discussion of these new pets. It's not for the general discussion of unreleased/new items. It is to be about this topic only.
And obviously it's touched a few nerves with some people, so it's fine that it's all here.

If you don't like the thread, don't post on it. Obviously someone felt the need to bring it up for discussion. This forum is a place where people can complain freely about neopets (however in a nice and orderly fashion without being too mean or nasty). People are allowed to have their opinions on these forums, if you don't like what people are saying, don't like it. But you are not in any position to decide on whose opinion does or does not matter, nor are you able to decide on whether the thread in question is or is not of importance.

They look OK to me.

I like the beaten Royalgirl kyrii one lol

But I wouldn't adopt a kyrii in the first place, they're not my neopet species lol

I rather like the colors and poses on both but am somewhat put off by how much they look like gnorbus i. They do look royal to me though. The boy is haughty with great attitude all around. The girl is rather prim and delicate looking unless you get on her bad side :)

I think that is another line of it for me Treasure, is that they look to "I'm better then you" for the most part, which I just dont like as a thing that should be implied by any way, shape or form.

But, most of you seem to accept all of it, so be it I suppose. I just really dont see how you can really like a certain pet that hardly resembles the Kyrri species.

kyrii

Personally, i love the look of the royal kyrii. I never liked the species that much but these ones are awsome,, I am saving up for a royal
paintbrush get one. Although they do look more like a gnorbu.. perhaps?

Because most of us don't like the normal Kyriis? ;)

I know, most people dont. Not that I'm saying I'm am (quiet happy with my Spellcasters), but there is like this sort of 'line' that shouldn't be messed up if you intend to paint a pet a certain color, because the objective to that is to change the apperance of the pet with retaining the base, in this case the Kyrii's.

I mean I dont like the Mutant Uni either, it doesn't even appear to be either/or and just doesnt belong on Neopets untill they redo it and give this some respect to the base creature.

Yeah, but the thing is, they're royals. They're aristocratic; they're from different stock. Think of Prince Charles and how different he looks from a lot of people. ;) The royal kyrii are snooty, fine-featured, stylized royals, and it works for me... and most everyone else. I certainly think you are perfectly within your right to hate them, of course. I just think that starting a thread calling for a revamp when 90% of people seem to love the pet wasn't the best idea. ;)
