this isn't a joke at you, cranberry, it's a joke at everyone -
maybe those of us who were good and didn't complain EVER got it, and those of us who were bad and complained even once didn't.

things suggested but generally not the case on the boards:
that it depended on what sidebar you were using when you collected (but i know many yellows who didn't get it)
that it depended on if you loaded the animation and watched it all the way (i did and didn't get it)
that it depended on what browser you were using (very doubtful)
that it depended on if you checked the advent calendar every day (again with the 'idadgi')

also, i wish that the profile change page would ever submit for me.

I was using default sidebar, watched the animation all the way through on the collection page (not the first page,) use firefox and collected every day. I didn't have any advent items in inventory. But, I DO voice my complaints when I have them... heh

I suppose I can test the it's part of the advent, but I'd have to wake my sister -in-law up to do it, and she probably wouldn't be too happy that I woke her up at 2AM to test a wild theory.

I can later in the day, but by then I bet the theory will have been worked out.

I went to the boards and saw all the crazyness about 10 minutes past the hour, and thought 'oh cool, Ill get a new sidebar.' But then I didnt.

I dont mind, I wouldnt of used it, but it still is unfair. Advent isnt supposed to spark controversy and unhappiness. :/

Theyve given different prizes at different times previous years, and that was bad enough. But you cant buy a sidebar if you dont get it.

By the way, I went at 12:15am, was using the Halloween sidebar, had 28,748 neopoints out, and 49 items in my inventory, none of which were advent prizes. I watched the animation, and used AOL, since I didnt feel like logging into my main on Firefox. If anyones trying to figure something out with that. Still seems either random, or TNTs mistake.

I'm really disappointed.

The first thing I do in the morning is a daily run. I open a bunch of links and work through them, one of them being the Advent Calander.

I was slightly disappointed with the results, until my friend told me people were getting a sidebar. I personally think this is very unfair. I've been to the Advent Calander every day this year, as I did last year, and the year before. It would have been a very nice treat to get the sidebar, I have 3 of them so far, and rotate between them. I liked the Winter one, and wished I would have it.

I hope they release it across the board. Otherwise, to me, it seems very unfair...

I am so very unhappy that I didn't get the sidebar. My sister went shortly before I did and got it.

I was gleefully playing Harvest Moon earlier and her if we got anything good enough from the calendar to make me move away from my game. I was excited when she told me that one of the prizes was the sidebar...but nope. Didn't get it.

This stinks... so far I've only got the Maraquan one. I would have really liked the winter one.

If Neopets wanted the sidebar to be a random event, they shouldn't have put it on the Advent Calendar. By definition, the advent calendar should be fair and everyone should get the same.

We didn't get a new avatar this year and the least they could have done was make it available for everyone. They should make an alternative way to obtain it in light of it.

I'm just glad I never saw this thread before I collected my prize or I would be even more disappointed with them.
