I've never had to wait for something to be stolen before.

Isn't that a great trick? ;) I've been using it quite a while. Only thing is... are there even any table spaces left on the first floor? As I walked by I passed by probably half of the total, and none of them were empty. That's why I'm not doing tables anymore. Even scroll racks have gotten hard enough to place.

Where? I searched and the image won't load no matter what.

Also, does TNT warn us with the "Laziness" (with "Why bother?" written on it) TCG Card? Reminds me of my own sense of futility moving furniture, although I do think it is helping.

http://images.neopets.com/tcg/c_desert/0092_CI10.gif is Qasalan tablets, http://images.neopets.com/tcg/c_desert/0013_HX10.gif is Ruki Patrol. The first one the I at the end was changed to a 1, the second the H was missing. Change c_desert to cotd_desert for the larger versions. :)

i'm not sure if this is anything, but the last inset in the last page of the comic is outlined in bright colors....don't they usually outline everything in black? and on what nabile is writing, there's a set symbol followed by an equal sign. i think this is indicating we're going to have to translate our tablets, soon if not now

I think she's just repeating what we did with the tablet (with the prophecy.) Likely if it's the same process we did, they'll find the statue room in the next couple parts.

Hmm...

Nothing is too crazy, but I think if we compare tablets we will find there are twelve--one for each symbol. I'm a Kar, and here's my tablet. Well, for those complaining about placing the scroll racks, most people aren't thinking about what is the easiest route, but "where is the nearest empty slot". I think everyone's getting equally tired with this 'game'.

Does anyone know what a "fraudster" is? And how closely is it related to 'fraud'?

To those pointing out the comment on "swarm of undead" is directly related to the "swarm of scamander" card. You should read the latter one before reading the former.

I know I'm tired of this game...

Just cleared up a bunch of scroll rack slots on the second floor, on the left side.

anjuna wrote:Why are Nabile and Tomos exploring different rooms and translating things, while we are moving furniture for *almost* no apparent reason?

Good Question.

anjuna wrote:Are we ahead of the plot itself? And TNT is scrambling to catch up?

I doubt it. They would simply make us sit and wait. It is more likely that we are behind.

anjuna wrote:Where is the armoury and the room Nabile is in ("a dusty room with scrolls")?

The armoury is in the Qasalan ruins. If Nabile is in a library, I find it very interesting that the Qasalan tablets are on the wall. Since both rooms are off the same corridor and are in the Qasalan ruins and they got there by falling into all too familiar traps, I believe that the temple that we found is our link to the ruins or is part of the ruins itself.

IanB wrote:Is it too simplistic to think that chapter 10 is suggesting there's something that can be worked out from our tablet?

Not at all. I've been suggesting for quite some time that there seems to be more to them than what we've been able to figure out. After all, the fortune teller STILL says:
Well, I guess you can still go back to the Mysterious Tablet. Maybe we can figure out something else.
and this statement has not been updated, despite updates to the remainder of her script.

Additionally, the prophecy we were given by translating our ONE tablet does not end in a period and sounds like it is only a portion of a larger whole. The TCG card also refers to tablets (plural) and a prophecy that includes enough information to determine that the prince is one thousand years old. Our tablet was found outside of the Qasalan Ruins, (the fortune teller had it) while the ones Nabile is studying were found inside.

I hope so too, as I haven't done very many myself... laziness I suppose. I don't like seemingly futile busy work much either. :P Hats off to those that have moved tons! ;)

I thought the multi-colored outline was a little attention drawing too. It appears she is definitely translating the glyphs. I just can't tell what she's translating them into.
Good point, Rune. Could be that's all there is to it and I'm just longing for a mystery plot so badly I'm trying to make this into one. *sigh*
Speaking of the statue, Nuria isn't a statue on the TCGs... almost makes me think we need to figure out how to "free" her. (See, I'm still trying to make a mystery out of it!?! :P)

Not that I like to nitpick. Wait. That is a lie. I love to nitpick :D . But... How can Nabile figure out the language without previous training?

Born in one of the poorest districts of Sakhmet, Nabile has been roaming the streets since a very young age.

There is no way she could be able to translate the tablets without some sort of reference, ie a Rosetta Stone (named such because of the color of the stone. It looks black due to the ink used by Napoleon's scientist). Anyway, I can think of a few exceptions. She could be the reincarnation of Daniel Jackson (Stargate reference). She could be a Whispered (Full Metal Panic! reference). She could have raided the royal library as a kid and instead of robbing it, she read and memorized every book inside. Best and most likely, it is a simple deus ex machina and should be ignored.

Runevalkyrie wrote: Likely if it's the same process we did, they'll find the statue room in the next couple parts.

Good idea on the statue. I'll bet the prophecy they find will work differently for them. Hopefully, Nuria will appear and lead them back to the city and therefore open the city back up to us. At least, that would be the deus ex machina I'd use.

Watch out now ;) (check the Laziness TCG Card "Why bother?") as we are all bound to fall into that trap and then maybe the Fruit Machine will never come back (basically the only reason I am doing this)! LOL :P

she's translating them from the first tablet on teh wall. you can see she's matched the first symbol with "set" and the scarab looking thing with the sun symbol (forget the name). and if you look closely to the other tablets, there are definite corresponding symbols to the ones we're used to....look at the double fans and the river symbol, they're the most obvious

edit: i agree, she doesn't have education, but i think these are pretty obvious translations for the most part, and the Scarabs are very clever scabs, so i wouldn't put it past her

ID has moved to the basement ... Row 45, Col 9.

As far away as he can get, me thinks.

Very, very nice... she is translating them into the glyphs used on our tablet. So, maybe our tablets aren't one of the Qasalan Tablets after all.
*goes to study the comic tablets*

Edit: I do Elric, although not sure it's absolutely complete... one minute....

I don't ...
but I do I have a list of places that I won't track down the ID in order to move more furniture ... and Basement, Row 45, Col 9 is definitely one of them.

And what do you think we've been doing? :P We had over a week of nothing, followed by--what, 4 days now?-- of seemingly pointless furniture moving. If that's not "sitting and waiting", I don't know what is.

Of course, it should be noted that while we're ahead of Tomos and Nabile, we're behind the other part of the plot, as we haven't figured out a way to get into Sakhmet yet 8)
