I personally think that is just evil and Neopets needs to get rid of it. There are a lot of pets out there that are VERY expensive.

But then how would people like me, who don't have Boochi, get him as a challenger?

Exactly. All you have to do is make sure your active pet is either one you don't mind getting zapped (eg. a lab pet), or one where there isn't a Baby pet in that species.

I guess I wouldn't mind too much. I could care less about getting him as a battledome opponent, since I'm not a fighter, really. But I'd rather have a grey Ixi than a baby Ixi, so I want there to be some Grey Faerie who goes around greying pets...

A friend got me into playing poker on Neo, and I've been playing (rather pathetically) for the past year or so. I'm really not great at it, and have probably lost more than I've ever won, but I enjoy it so I keep playing. Recently I found out how people get those gold trophies: sheer luck! I got a string of hands that were all unbelievable and nearly impossible to lose. My bets were all very conservative, so had I bet wildly I could have easily topped the 3k mark.
