In no way does it say to send in photos of a carved pumpkin. It doesn't say that it dissallows drawn pictures of pumpkins. So there was no need to get snarky.
As someone already mentioned theres more then one way to carve a pumpkin.

However, i'd like to point out that General chat is not a place to show your art. We have an art gallery for that.

I'm wondering if the avatar will change each week, or if it is for all random contests?

It'll probably change, which will mean a lot of avvys that will be pretty unique.

The thread is a discussion about the contest and how it will work if I see things right. This thread is not about showing off possible entries into the contest.

Well, disallowed or not, I thought her braintree pumpkin was cute, and I enjoyed getting to see it. Image

I myself am quite guilty of putting in images in my posts, and straying off-topic, I'll try to be more careful in the future. I didn't know you guys were so strict about it. Image

But anyhow, back to the subject at hand, I think I'll probably just sit this contest out Image...I guess either drawn or real entries are acceptable, but I just got done carving my son's pumpkin tonight, and boy was it a lot of work. I forgot how tough it was and time consuming to carve a pumpkin. Image

Anyone who actually does a REAL neopets pumpkin should get an avatar in my opinion, no matter what they make or if it gets "chosen" for display on a page or not. Image

Probably won't be that way though, I already feel bad for people who in no doubt will spend a lot of time on their creations, only to have their entry "rejected" down the line....Image

It all seems like too much effort to put into JUST to get a prize from a virtualpets game for me :p I mean, how many people out there would actually rush out to the vege stores, buy a pumpkin, spend the night carving it, take a photo, upload it an send it in JUST for a contest is beyond me..... So yes, I agree with Valerie, EVERYONE who went into that trouble of doing it should all get a prize of some sort.... avatar perhaps. Otherwise one would feel extremely disppointed and angry after they entered and their entry was not chosen :(

3) Your pumpkin must be a REAL PUMPKIN (one that you have carved out yourself to resemble anything from Neopets, and taken a photo of). We may consider a turnip, beetroot, apple or gourd, but only under special circumstances :)

So...probably a real one.

Seems like they got a heck of inquiries, since that certainly isn't the text that was there in the first place. Good that they clarified though.

I like that they're having a contest that'll involve real life tangible crafts. It's something I can actually do and have fun doing. Hopefully they really will do a Neopets sock puppet thing, because that would rock. I could totally see myself making a plushie Slorg.

Me and my sister tried to carve pumpkins. I tried to carve Edna, and she was carving Fyora. Let's just say.....it really didn't turn out the way we wanted it to.

Who's Off Topic??? ME!!!

At the Student Campus Building they were giving free burgers to whoever carved a pumpkin. I carved mine as Michael Jackson. It was very realistic because it had no nose.

In anycase, I'm sure that having a Neopets themed pumpkin is much more work than my off the cuff, spontaneous poop of a pumpkin. I'd think that they should give the majority of people who put effort into it an avatar if they are going to be giving them out. Not necessarily a np prize, but an avatar.
