Things you did when you were a newbie

Another stupid thing I did was to underestimate the traffic flow of Neopets. In attempting to transfer some rare items from one account to another (including a black frost cannon and a grand lightning beam), I put them in my shop for 100np, then logged out and logged into the other account. I naively thought that the items would still be there, which of course they weren't. Lol!

I fell for the babysitting scam, luckily they didn't change my pass only took 10k (which is all I had at the time)

1. In the first Meridell war, I didn't understand how you fought the opponents, and so, while I did sign up on Meridell's side, I never got any war points at all

2. Since I didn't know the actual value of codestones, I priced them for around 900 NP. I was delighted that someone bought them for such a 'large amount' of NP

3. I used to believe that pets could actually die if you didn't feed them. So imagine how horrified I was to log in one day and find their status as 'dying'. Then I found out they could never die.

If I remember correctly, Meerca Chase used to give out Magical Meerca plushie. I got a yellow one and instead of selling it, I let my red Kougra play with it, wondering what "Magic" will happen....I ended up buying another red Kougra morphing potion in the end. What a waste....

This isn't something I did when I was technically a "newbie" but I started playing neopets and quit for awhile and when I went back, I decided to sell some of my old stuff. Well, I didn't realize how much Neopets had changed, and I sold some of my stuff for really low prices. When I say this is old stuff, I mean these were items from when Neo first started. So...yeah, I sold some retired items and stuff for really low prices. I probably could have been a millionaire with some of that stuff.

-I didn't know about shop wizard so I always bought stuff from those expencive malls.

-Kind of fell for somebodys scam, it was "buy ten items (they were like 300np each) in my shop and recive a free item" Good thing the person was nice and send me some shield, I didn't even get that it was bad because I still didn't know about Shop wizard and thought the the shield was the coolest thing I ever had.

-Did the copy and paste the bla bla bla.... chain letter to see if it worked, but didn't get a warning because it was a new thing back then.

-Bought a 2k petpet for 15k because I didn't know about shop wizard.

-Used to play the same games and collect dailies on two accounts and then send them to my main account. (I also think that's what got my main account frozen )

Well, lessee. I was a Newbie back in the good o' days of non-flash games... there were like, ten when I joined, including the long-tie classic Hide and Seek... I don't think I did anything stupid, really, but then it was hard to.

I DID buy lots of Battledome items, (before the Battledome came out), including a Rainbow Ice Cannon. It cost... 4,000? Which was a lot at the time, but not *that* much.

And I played Guess the Card a lot, which was stupid of me.

Actually spending my neopoints on neo-food for my pets. It didn't take me very long to realize that I could use the Neolodge lol I also kept tons of neopoints on hand instead of in the bank, so I could have started saving earlier.

I remember thinking the lottery was soooo expensive, so I would play Kacheek Seek and get oh so rich by earning 20 np a game... I remember thinking 'Wow, this is so cool! It's for free so there is no chance to lose!'... wow, I would do that any day for 20 np...


I remember seeing the copy and paste this into 10 trades... chain letter in the trades... I remember that in the middle someone sent me a neomail saying (nicely) I shouldn't do it because it's not allowed... and I remember saying 'Oh, I know, but my friend doesn't believe me so I'm showing her it doesn't work...'



Smart, eh? xD He believed me.
