Yeah... even if you're bad at them, if you actually take the time to play games and submit the scores, you can make 10k a day. Shoot, Majority Rules alone gives you 3k a day and the scores are right here on the forums!

As for restocking, my suggestion is to restock something you know the prices of VERY well. Pick something with a smaller item base, or something less popular, than just "toys" or "food". That way, it's easier to remember which things you should grab when they come up in the shop.

Also, when I do my dailies, I put the decent stuff (750 NP and up) in my safety deposit box, and the cheap stuff into my shop. I price the things in my shop every other week, and I go through my SDB every other month or so and put into my shop everything I don't want to keep.
This accomplishes several things:
1. it allows the expensive things to increase in price
2. it allows you to have a full shop when people visit
3. it gives you the profits in bigger chunks at a time, and you're more likely to spend responsibly... that is...
if you get 50ish np in your shop each day from selling your daily stuff, perhaps spiking to 1-2k when you get something cool, are you really going to put the piddly things into the bank when it appears in your shop till?
if you get 2600 np out of your shop till, you're much more likely to think about what you want to do with it: save, spend, invest, etc.
4. if you can drop your valuable stuff in the SDB and forget about it, it seems amazing when you sell it: you're not sitting around going "i have 1.2mil in the bank, but really i have 1.3 mil because i have 100k in items". If you forgot about it for a while, when you sell it and you miraculously have 100k for items you didn't even know you had, it seems like free money. It's not, of course, but it's wonderfully encouraging when you're having a bad financial week :)

Play easy, quick games every day, such as sponsor games (especially personality quiz and crowd control ones). There are a few sites with links to current sponsor games (with answers), such as this one. I only play ones that are semi-fun or superfast. Then save the regular games you're good at in "my favorites." Splat-a-sloth gives me 600+ NP in less than 2 minutes every day. Dice-a-roo gives you food that you can sell in your shop -- you can play faster by F5'ing (but not too quickly). I try to solve every Lenny Conundrum when it comes out, and then try the Better than you game. I enter the caption contest every time (haven't won it yet) and the random contest when it's easy (won that one my first try). I've started entering the story contest sometimes, too.

I also do all the free dailies and wheels; I sell the omelettes, jellies, and fish and just put my pets in the Neolodge for 1 night when they're starving. I don't spend NP on anything, except maybe faerie quests. I do try to buy 1000 stocks at 15 NP every day and sell half at 30 NP; the other half I sell at 45 or higher. I keep one of everything I get in my SDB, so that if a new avatar is released, I can hopefully find some items to sell during the frenzy -- it's already earned me about 40,000. I keep anything that's retired for as long as I can, especially those items that are consumed (books, food), to allow them to gain in value.

I briefly dabbled in buying lab map pieces and selling them in complete sets -- I earned 100,000 NP off two complete sets, but it was a significant investment in time and NP, and with cookie-grabbers and dupers around, I've decided it's not worth it for me (it's just not that enjoyable). But if you like that sort of thing, you could do the same with some of the cheaper map sets.

Whatever you decide to do to make NP, make sure it's something you enjoy. I find restocking in the shops boring and frustrating, so I don't do it. There are games that I could earn 3k/day on, but they're too tedious for me. So I stick to the games and contests I like. I find myself earning more NP when I'm trying to have fun rather than focusing on making NP.
