i think any spotted item will work, but everyone has a lesser spotted fish through fishing anyway

So, you own a tuskaninny of any color, have a spotted item in your inventory, then go to the pet lookup?

Well, anyone who created a pet specifically for this avatar has to wait 7 days to abandon it.

So next Tuesday, the pound will be full of tuskaninnies with stupid names. Right now, though, there are none.

Well, it is Tuskaninny Day. Perhaps today only you get a Tuskkie item when you create one.
But I wouldn't know, I created mine long ago.

It is --any-- spotted item to get the avatar-- I used Spotted Neopets Birthday Balloon.

Yup I got exactly the same item... does this happen on all pet days?

I was going to wait a week to adopt a tuskaninny for the avatar until I realized that creating one now gives you neopoints + a free item (Lemon Tuskaninny Pop for me too), adopting a week later costs neopoints. So I ended up creating Mermidion the Tuskaninny, whose name I like so much that I'll be keeping him around as a labpet from now on.

Bleh. I hate species avatars because unless it's a jubjub, eyrie, or kyrii avatar, I'll have to buy a morphing potion.
