Maybe it's someone with a grudge against BD chat :) I know some monitors were players before/after their jobs at Neo.

Ouch - that sucks :/ I've totally given up on the neoboards, and I only used the trades and auctions one. Usually there's not enough good modding going on by the mods and too much awful back seat modding from non-mods.

Example, I advertise an auction and the fact I have a buyable unbuyable thingy in my shop and I get told off for being off topic and spamming...on the trades and auctions board  No more neoboards for me, it's risky enough without having to put up with eejits half the time.

THIS ACCOUNT HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED.

You have been SUSPENDED for the following reason:

Do not post or encourage other players to post inappropriate words to test the message filters. This includes typing gibberish words and inappropriate words with spaces or symbols.

Your suspension will end in 89 hours and 6 minutes.

At that time you will be able to return to the site with your account and pets safely intact. Please make sure to read the Terms and Conditions and our NeoRules while you wait for your suspension to end. You are being given another chance here. Do not lose your account PERMANENTLY by breaking the rules in the future.

and you got that for asking for a weapon recommendation? Were you using one of the very common abbreviations that almost everyone uses for a particular weapon? If so, I would definitely write to support and ask that this be looked into.

That is complete and utter nonsense if, say, you typed something like "what's better, a HOD or SC" and that came up as "gibberish".

e.e I asked if I should buy an H4K or just use a Scroll of Freezing for the war. :S

Yes, I know the support staff read these forums. No, I don't care.

Every job I have ever had, I have had someone above me looking over my actions--maybe not all of the time, but enough of the time to make sure I wasn't screwing up. Especially when I was new at the job and my supervisors didn't yet know if I am completely trustworthy and competent. So, I don't understand why the actions of a new mod weren't being monitored by someone higher up in the ranks.

Makes no sense to me at all.

Today we are implementing a new way to deal with people who break certain Terms and Conditions. If you break more minor rules, your account may only be SUSPENDED for up to 72 hours (rather than frozen completely). During your suspension you will not have access to any part of your account. After the suspension period is over, your account will be returned to you.

And this is exactly what happened in the HC, new mods moved in and ruined the place. It used to be a great place to chat in where people didn't fear being frozen for offering help. Then new mods came and ruined the place. I made a F.A.Q. of pretty much all of how Neopets works and we were trying to keep it bumped at the top when the topic is deleted and I'm warned for "discussing issues such as homsexuality on the Neoboards."

I told people about it and they agree that there was NOTHING I had posted with any to do with that :x

Then they mass froze people, I was one of the lucky few that was placed on a final warning (Yes I got a big Neomail with a nice large THIS IS YOUR FINAL WARNING. IF YOU CONTINUE TO BREAK THE RULES YOU WILL BE PERMANANTLY FROZEN at the bottom) A lot of people were frozen without warning and lost a lot

Then they deleted the General Chat and the New Member swarmed the boards. Most people gave up on the Neoboards completely and some, like myself, migrated to the BD Chat (Though I mainly lurk, not post).

Now the mods are doing the same to the BD Chat. Don't you love it when you can't use a section of the site under fear of being kicked off of the site

I don't go near the neoboards at all. 8)

:roflol: Maybe some people/the monitor doesn't know what a faq is.

Not to take any sides, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they didn't have any other warnings for what you could have been doing (in which I see absolutely nothing wrong with an FAQ... the monitors could learn a few things :P).

They should add in some more specific warnings. Some absurd warnings may be deserved, but they don't have one saying that specific situation.

That's ridiculous! What kind of dope doesn't know the difference between g and q? It isn't a real mystery. We learned the alphabet in what, kindergarden?

Just as an fyi ... be very very careful what you post anywhere on the site right now. I don't know what is going on, but people are getting suspended left and right. The premium board I know people have been getting suspended for things like posting that they're putting a pet up for adoption (and the reason says something about lending/transferring pets and advertising). Well, on the site it even says you should let people know if you're pounding a pet! Someone else was frozen for allegedly trying to sell their pet - again this is not what happened. I was there, I saw the entire board, nothing of the sort was said or implied.

Someone else got a warning for "profanity" when replying to a neomail. Wasn't anything the person wrote, it was the original message. How on earth the first neomail got sent if there was anything "profane" is beyond me. And both parties to this were certain that there was no profanity or anything that could have been taken as such.

There was a board just a short while ago, people were posting very politely but confused because no one can figure out what all these warnings/suspensions/freezings are about and please to update and clarify the rules. It wasn't a rant/bash TNT kind of thing, really a plea to get things straight for everyone so we all know exactly what is and is not ok to do. Know what? The board was removed. So far, none of us have gotten warnings, etc. I did post one thing on that board. So right now I'm kind of worried.

And don't assume because you only post on your guild board that you're ok. Those are monitored, just like the boards and neomail.

So, watch yourselves. I don't know if it's new monitors or what. But it's not a pleasant place to be right now.

And even then you could have meant a cigarette. They didn't even read the post!

Personally, I believe it's best to avoid the Neoboards entirely. The majority of the users there are morons, anyway.
