A proposal to reduce rare item overinflation

the only problem I see with this is what about people who have a not frozen account but haven't logged on in forever?

Sending that person an item wouldn't increase the number in neopia because they'd be stuck in unused accounts. This wouldn't happen in every case but the risk is still great, unless they put some kind of limits (i.e. the person would have had to have been active w/in the past month). But that would be hard.

Maybe a way to solve this would have it made so you have to actually GO to Peter and click a link to "collect" your item. If you don't collect with in a month, then have the offer expire and be offered to someone else?

That makes it even better! It'll kind of be like collecting your rare item code in a way, wouldn't it?

This kind of goes along with an idea that I had recently. All accounts that have been frozen for over 12 months should be deleted along with the items getting redistributed. Also anyone that has not logged into their account for over a year will be sent and E-mail to their main e-mail account saying that their neopets account will be deleted and all items redistributed to all of neopets.

That way, their servers will be cleared of junk accounts and maybe they won't have to have all these banners to pay for them.

is this including items from the saftey deposit box and in their shop?

Pets and everything along those lines will be *ahem* deleted. That way those names that are being tied up by non-players can now be used to create a new pet.

he he i never thought of them being deletied, slippedmy mind, plus, there enough pets in the pound as it is.

Actually, I was thinking that pets should stay in the accounts. I figured that was the safest way to do things, just to make sure that if there WAS a server glitch, or a programming error, then other users wouldn't lose irreplaceable things like pets or account names.
