I don't think you can because you don't have the right set of phrases.
Correct me if I am wrong, but ...

Example: If the scroll you read was SAF , you would have these phrases
"I'm the food specialist for your herbivorous workers."
"I'm here to prepare food for your Elephante workers."
"You guys should drink some more water before you get heat stroke."
"Have you thought about triple-glazing your windows? It's fun and functional!"
"I'm here with the royal census. You're not a Ruki! Get out of my way!"

(of which the correct for a SAF statue would be #4. )

If you have a RAH statue NONE will work for you. You need the RA phrases. You need to read the RA scroll to get them. Then select the correct RA saying.

I just started the plot but I can't seem to be able to map my tomb. I always confuse everything and it never works. Can someone give me a guide for it?

If the time it takes is based off stats, you wouldn't be able to change your pet without the time taken being altered

I did do this, my first pet took 3 hours to get back in ( a new pet - low stats), so I changed to my "best" pet statistic wise, and I get in within 1 hour.

I don't have to be told twice, it has something to do with the stats.

I was referring to switching your active pet 1/2 way through carting the sand off

I switched my active pet during the time it was carrying sand back. I didn't change my waiting time. My first pile of sand I got with my pet with agility of 31. It took about 2,5 hours. After that I tried with my pet with the highest agility (78 ) and it took little over an hour.

The waiting time does not change if you change active pets during the waiting time. I guess a certain amount of time starts ticking away when you grab a hand full of sand. That time remains the same even if you change to a pet with higher agility.

I actually got the gains insight when I read the proper scroll, and I was quite afraid I'd not be able to gain access to get sand... But lo and behold I was able to.
