Alrighty, I have finally decided what team I want to be on. Yay! It's because if we get the team trophies on our user lookups, I think that Faerielands will look the best. (my user lookup is inverted). I also like the game play characters the best. The ones that just kind of glide across the screen are kind of boring. And some of the legs out there are really weird. But the wings work great for me. I just wish they had a pic of that Xweetoch (sp?) making the shot instead of the Bruce. I think he looks silly. But whatever. Now that I have decided I can have more fun. Best score so far 5-1.

Hmm I wonder which side has the most players.

Well, my bet would be on Altador. As it's the Altador Cup. Plus, Altador has been in the news a lot lately, and with the plot, it's made it more popular.

Could be wrong, but meh.

I think a lot of newbs and n0bs will be playing for altador, seeing as it's the home team. I'm rooting for faerieland too. I was going to support Roo Island, but then I read all the rosters and chose faerieland.

There was talk a bit ago about skipping the starting ball screen or positioning your front player.

Well you can actually do both! If you hover where your player is, then move your mouse towards the centre, THEN hit space you'll skip the start screen but be moving already.

If you leave it too late to press space though you do have to go through the whole ball thing.

I think faerieland, darigan and altador will be the heavyweights in terms of numbers. They just can't match the pure skill of the Brightvale team though.

I think one of Roo Island or Kiko Lake will do quite well, because they're mini worlds, so everyone will think that they'll be less popular, and join them.

And, the 'evil' worlds will do well as well, because there are only a handful of them (Darigan Citadel, Virtupets, maybe Kreludor, but that will be one of the less popular ones, in my opinion)

I'm going to throw all my Neggs in one basket and do an estimate popularity rundown:

1) Darigan Citadel - Evil will triumph over good
2) Altador - Hosts will be popular
3) Maraqua - Oceanic area will be very popular
4) Faerieland - Will be popular for just being Faeries
5) Kiko Lake - Dark horse for the competition, in my opinion. And Kikos are quite popular pets
6) Lost Desert - Recent plot raising profile
7) Virtupets - Although the bulk of 'evil' supporters will go to Darigan, Virtupets will still have a strong following
8 ) Haunted Woods - Quite popular, but can't beat the more popular ones
9) Mystery Island - Can see them being very popular, but can't break into the upper category
10) Terror Mountain - Cold
11) Krawk Island - Arr!
12) Roo Island - Not very popular, but I bet they do well.
13) Tyrannia - Nothing much happens there any more.
14) Kreludor - Can't see too many groups of people supporting them - evil will go to Darigan, good will go to one of many, and Grundo lovers will be Virtupets.
15) Meridell - Sadly, it's been overused - people now long for a Meridell-free plot
16) Brightvale - The 'cheatiness' will lose them a lot of popularity.

I will be very surprised if it turns out to be like this at all, but that's my guess, based on what I've seen. Many of them I have no reason other than gut instinct, and there are some which I feel should be higher up, yet didn't put them there (I want about eight in the top five. Minor problem there). Anyway, comments. Don't be too savage.

I've been playing pretty much all morning, waiting to get the faerie ball so I can do some proper analysis on it.

Nearly all the time the ball will curve towards the centre line (see diagram). So if you throw it 'out' it will curve 'in'. If you throw it in though, it will not curve (not noticably) until it crosses the centre line, then it will curve back in again.

So far the easiest way to score (I said easiest, not easy...) is to position yourself just above or below the centre line, and aim wide of the goal, so that the ball curves back in again around the keeper.

So it will try to align to the centre line?

It will always accelerate towards it.

Seems like someone got there first:

Also:

The Mutant ball will act like any of the other three balls, fire, snow and faerie randomly for each shot. When scoring, do the same as you would for fire or snow and hope. You can always recover and try again if it turns out to be faerie.

While many teams seem popular, the bios of many seem to hint that they're predetermined to take the axe. Teams like Mystery Island have great rosters and seem set for victory, but Terror Mountain seems likely to go out quickly. I do disagree with a few of the positions on popularity. Krawk Island is definitely a popular team, with Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest soon to mark a return of Capt. Jack Sparrow, pirates are all the rage. Kiko Lake, however, I see more as a comical team than an effective one. Think about it, the Kikos look like larger players will mistake them for the ball. The only decent player on the team is the Jetsam, because you don't man-handle Jetsams, Kikos obviously, but not Jetsams.

Soap Opera Teams: (Can they survive their great tragic flaws?)
Lost Desert (Star player vs. Teammates
Terror Mountain (Can they unite?)
Maraqua (Same as Lost Desert)
Roo Island (Same as Terror Mountain)
Krawk Island (Can they pull it out?)
Kiko Lake (Same as Krawk Island)
Virtupets (Not expecting it all)
Brightvale (CHEATERS!!!)

Decent Teams:
Darigan Citadel
Mystery Island
Kreludor
Faerieland
Tyrannia
Altador
Merridel
Haunted Woods

EDIT: Mutant Yooyuball: (3:1 Split Format) Easier to tell by passing on other team. If to a flank (left or right), usually the first or second shot will hook in towards the goal. If down the middle, pray.

There were a lot of teams that I wanted to join but since most of them had a plot done with them already, I decided to support faerieland as there has been no plot involving them.

2nd Choice: Maraqua
3rd Choice: Meridell

Does anyone but me find it ironic that the Altador Cup round 1 starts on June 8th, Petpet Appreciation Day? XD Sorry, I just noticed that, and found it HYSTERICAL!

Um, I'm quite sure it's entirely(or almost entirely) based on the users in the teams... and how well they play.

I want to say thanks for the flash guides I can now win games!~ I was getting scores of three or so with the other team getting five. My biggest problems were that sometimes I had a nother player by the goalkeeper and when I went to block a shot, the other player would get selected. The other problem I had was that when I went to shoot, I'd click outside the playing area and nother would happen except all the other players would converge on the ball.

~!Go Maraqua!~
