Lost Desert Plot Discussion #136 (Summary in First Post)

I don't really want to get drawn too far in the 'how will it end' discussion, but I will throw out the three items I believe will be key to the comic's conclusion: Nuria (makes a little sense since Faeries have been deus ex machina before), Bow of Searing Dawn (it seems like the weapons we got to play with), and Sceptre of Qasala (for some reason that seems to be important plus it appears to be in Jazan's hand).

Those three items were the same ones we were worried about at the start of this and should be the ones to worry about close to the end since they do seem important.

PS: Tomos could be the main hero, but he still has to get out of his anit-hero mindset. I still think Nabile is the truly central character even if she is no longer the star.

I had my mysterious scroll stolen by the pant devil a few days ago. I went back to the chef, and he gave me the useless crystal again. I began the whole repository step again, making it to the spike trap and getting the second crystal. After going back to the repository, it said: "You've been looking for this!" and my mysterious scroll appeared again!!!

But now I have both the 2nd crystal AND the scroll. Weird!

Put the scroll in the sdb right away... but I wonder how long I'll have this crystal...

Just want to post this info to give hope to anyone else who might have been silly enough to get the scroll stollen...

On the subject of "who's going to save the day" I guess I'd have to vote for Tomos right now (although from the latest comic, Jazan seems more likely) if for no other reason than I can't see what he's doing in the gallery of heroes? I haven't seen him do anything 'heroic' in the plot, indeed every contribution he's made seems to have been born out of greed. The gallery is after all dedicated to 'those who uphold the law' whereas Tomos does little else than try to steal anything he can get his hands on. Don't know about you but this seems a poor example for Neo to be setting for the younger readers of this comic.

I'm on my third crystal. Are your previous crystals supposed to dissappear? Mine did, but then I went into the repository and found my previous crystal!?? It said something like "You've been looking for this!"

Maybe he is not really a good guy yet. He could have been pretending to love Nabile in order to get a tasty Ixi treat for his daddy. Mmm... toasted Ixi. Tastes like venison.

Actually, if you look closely at your crystal, like clicking on it in your inventory, you'll see the other crystals under it. They are kind of stacked on top of each other. If your crystal disappeared, maybe it was put in/out of your safety deposit box or something. Alot were losing theirs that way and getting it back from the Foreman/Chef. If you didn't lose it that way.... I dont know. hehe.

But you're getting there. Hang in. You'll get the final crystal in no time. And when you do, think back on all the stuff you did in this plot. hehe. Makes you wonder what you did to deserve such punishment from TNT. LOL I guess the feeling of accomplishment is also very rewarding too.

i've had the same problem...for some reason i can't get the final white scroll...it's very frusterating. makes me sad. !


EDIT: I just realized that I have more than one of each color/symbol (r,b,y set) scroll that I'm supposed to read in each section...are we supposed to read all the same type of scrolls. you know like all 3 have to be thin or something?

Hi all, hoping someone could clarify something with the 3rd crystal for me as the last few hours have started to frustrate me:P My blank spots on my tablet were : 1OOO

I read the scrolls for 1 and got a location, found the white scroll. I read it twice (hoping to be lazy) and went to the third one. Read all the combinations for #3 and never got a location so decided maybe I needed to do the ankh over for #2, but didn't get a scroll location for that either. Not sure if I screwed myself up skipping the second scroll or what. Advice greatly appreciated!

That is kind of strange.... I wonder if others have had the same problem

The bug fix yesterday was supposed to cause a crystal to be given with the "You've been looking for this" message, IF your crystal had been discarded or stolen. The program is supposed to give you the last crystal it thinks you earned. The fact that you were given the second crystal means you should begin with those scroll sequences to earn the third crystal. Why on earth this happened if you HAD the third crystal is mightly puzzling... complicated by the fact that you don't remember anything happening to it.

You definitely have to read the primary colored scrolls again for the second ahn. They are usually in a diferent color order. When you say you did the scolls for second one, I'm not sure if you tried to do them in the same order or if you tried all possible orders. I would suggest trying all possible orders. If you've already done that and haven't received a room message, then you would have to go back and repeat the first one.

with all these posts about getting crystals back from the chef .. Im a bit scared to go near him and also the repository now because of the random events reported about getting back crystals... I lost my 4th crystal at the beginning of the week due to the Big Neopets Birthday Glitch when pages for some reason where not loading up properly.. I dont want another crystal.. I started all over from the beginning again and have completed everything up until now...
