gemma58 - Nothing personal to you, even though you did post a few times clarifying. It just seemed that every person who got the answer added another spin on the same hint. While this is usually good, we don't usually need more than three. The Neopedia is about enough of a hint. Maybe saying it is in the front, middle or back. I believe that telling which page it is on may be going a bit too far (tell me if you agree or disagree here, PPTers!). The people looking for hints should really have to do the leg work like everybody else.

If they didn't have to, we would be no better than the people who spam the answers everywhere.

If you look up the shopkeepers name, you get a pet by the same. Cute page they have.

... is NOT a hint. It is something that can only be found AFTER you know the answer.

I agree that saying which page of the neopedia it's on is WAY too big of a hint, considering there are only a few articles per page. I thought the first hint (the crazy travelling shopkeeper one) was enough, and the "neopedia" hint made it even easier. From those hints we knew it was a female character who runs a shop, and you can figure it out just by reading the Neopedia titles and clicking on any article about a female character (excluding ones you know couldn't be her).

Sorry, away from the computer quite a bit during the Christmas holidays.

I did manage to answer this one, though. :)

XenaAndGabrielle- I was wondering where you were. You are usually the FIRST to post a relavent / confirmed clue.

My philosophy on MPs:
Clues should be straight forward but not too easy. If one person cannot get a clue, please PM them a more precise clue and help them out, but don't post it here in the boards.

OR post a hint that is of the same calibur, but contains different clues. People think in different ways.

Yeah ... my parents need to set up a wireless network! :) Then I could just use my laptop like I do at home.

Now, I have to use this ancient computer that runs slower than ... slower than ... slower than my thinking, I guess.

I like thinking of hints. :)

I never post clues because mine are always too revealing :o

Well, at least you try and help. :) I think you'll get the hang of it if you keep trying!

hey just how precise should the answer i submit to neopets be? suppose give them all the info and i should get a reward if its right? =) also if u havent figured out the answer by now... hmm i think the clues may have been a bit over the top but um *forgets what i was gonna say* perhaps next time people ask for clues we all would just repeat the ones all ready given.. and remind people its a challenge and u should work hard if u want a reward.. but
thats just me rambling.. *apologies* thank you for your clues. 0:)

stampsyne: you are the one that made it personal -
How is posting ONE clue and saying what it is not in ONE post qualify for:
"even though you did post a few times clarifying"
?

Obviously someone that has been on pptforum a fair while longer(long before the current date under my av) is not as good as yourself or:
XenaAndGabrielle- I was wondering where you were. You are usually the FIRST to post a relavent / confirmed clue.

To me ANYONE is capable of finding and/or giving clues to a mystery pic (or any other neo info) irrespective of their time on any given forum and my personal take on mystery pic clues is evident in how I gave my one and only clue on the forum.
[/rant]
You may not have seen me post many times on the Mystery Pic, but I only post if:
1. I have an idea that someone else has not thought of earlier than me,
2. I have something relevant to say
Please note: I do not usually post a clue unless I have confirmed that the image I have found matches EXACTLY and if someone posts a clue (to the same image) before I do, I do not post as I consider that my post would be a me too type post.

That said, I agree that sometimes a clue may be too revealing or there may be too many clues, however that is not my job to "police", so I leave that to the very capable mods.
Perhaps there could be a "mod notice" placed in the first post of every Mystery Pic thread, that outlines the pptforum "rules" of posting hints to the Mystery Pic.
Let's put this behind us and get the next Mystery Pic by working together on here!

I definitely agree with that. Several times (not in this MP, but recent previous ones) I have tried to put a stop to the hints after enough have been given out and delete any later ones (for some reason, people don't pay attention -.-). Maybe for the next one, after enough hints are given, I will post an note in the first post not to give anymore.

Don't forget, if someone posts something you think is too much, feel free to PM a mod about it. We can't be online all the time and sometimes, with so many posts, things can slip by. Thank you. :)

Thanks, Jasujo, your my hero!

tiffany_star wrote:hey just how precise should the answer i submit to neopets be?

I put the text (found just under the banner) the subject, and the species (if it is a neopet). EXAMPLE: Last time I put "Pet Central 'send a pet to a friend' Chia".

I hope that helps!

Please keep personal rants in personal messages. I think that you may have misunderstood. She doesn't seem to mean you and said so. Saying "where have you been" to somebody is not that bad.... *sigh*

I have less than 100 posts, and Stampsyne has always been helpful to me on the boards. I LOVE her Faerie Caves 2 walkthrough!

The rules can be found posted here http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7199
