Which also means if Neopets ever slumps at any given time, it is bound to be sold for not making a profit. Who would you sell it too? D-Di-Disney! Yes, Disney!

Though I wouldn't mind seeing the people who made films like Finding Nemo own Neopets.

Well ya. But hey if it get sold to Disney that would be awsome! :)

IMHO that could be a not so good thing. There is not a company that has stricter guidelines for anything than Disney. Gosh, even the town in Florida they built you have to sign an agreement to live in and you have to live there the way they say! There is a chance that fansites would either have to be licensed (pay?) or be shut down, we might not be allowed to use any of the images (like for our lookups, shops, etc.) at all ... and don't forget. Disney already has a game site, ToonTown. Which IS pay to play. So if Disney were to buy out Neo, it could turn into a complete pay to play site, not a voluntary thing link premium is now.

Viacom buying Neo I don't think is a bad thing. I'm repeating myself here, I know. But as long as Adam, Donna (why is there no Donna avi? *pouts*), Shroomy, Snarkie, flighttime and all the wonderful staff who work so hard for us and deserve all the respect we can give them, as well as the company they work for all stay put -- and maybe even some more staff to help take care of things! then I'm content. even if that does mean Dougie's staying

Disney didn't make Finding Nemo! :x
Pixar did. Disney just paid some money and put their name on it.
Luckily Pixar now is rich enough so they don't need Disney-money anymore.
(sorry for the offtopic rant, but I seriously don't like Disney and do like Pixar)

Ah yes, Pixar. That is who I am thinking of. I know Disney didn't make Finding Nemo, that is why I said "Though I wouldn't mind seeing the people who made films like Finding Nemo own Neopets" implying the company I didn't think of at the time, Pixar.

I hope they're doing the movie and not anyone else...

Zenial, Disney also took care of distribution. Plus, slap "Disney" on anything and it sells to the masses of littleuns.

I doubt that they will find EVERY neopets fansite and shut it down. I also doubt that they can do this without permission unless of course they own the site that hosts' the site they wish to shut down. ;)

And like others have said, if sites such as nBn, PPT and Neocolours were to be shut down there would be a massive outcry of fans. And we have the other sections of PPT to retreat to.

It's called Terms & Conditions. Every member signs and agrees to this when they sign up or they can't play. If the T&C said no unauthorized fansites and the people who choose to build one anyway would be shut down, then those webcreators agreed to that when they agreed to the T&C and the original site has every right to shut them down. It's as simple as that, especially with a company backed with enough money and legal prosecutors.

well, yesterday, at mtv latin america, I was watching the top 10, and one of the presenters talked about viacom buying neopets. And gave the link to the site and explained it quite well. Of course, I was shocked. I guess we'll be seeing much more latin americans around neopets too. (not that it bothers....)
