Random Contest: Cheese Wars

Thu Dec 01, 2005 8:20 pm

Info and Rules:
*SPLAT!!!*

In celebration of the holiday season and all of the gatherings people will have, we are making cheese ball sculptures!!!

This is one time when your parents might let you play with your food. Build a beautiful sculpture out of a cheese ball. It can be anything Neopets-related. (Blocks, wheels, etc. of cheese will not win.) Feel free to decorate your cheese with olives, nuts, etc. We will judge your creations on how yummy they look, their creativity, how well they're Neopets-themed, and overall appearance. Please list what you used to make your cheese ball sculpture in the description. Example:

* cream cheese
* shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
* grated onion
* Worcestershire sauce
* finely minced garlic
* Finely chopped pecans or peanuts

In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, onion, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic. Beat until well blended. Refrigerate until firm, then shape into whatever shape you want. Decorate your sculpture, and then refrigerate for 24 hours. (Remove from refrigerator 2 hours before you want to eat it.)

Please don't use this recipe, it's just an example. :)

Lawyerbot sighs and says:
- Make sure an adult is around to help if you use a cheese grater, a knife, or any appliance. We don't want anyone losing skin or fingers. And be sure to store your foods properly. Nobody wants a stomachache from eating bad cheese.

Congrats to PPTers who placed!

Ugh, too bad I'm not at home and can't do this. :(

Playing with cheese is one of my all time favorite activities. I'm a cheese nut. ^.^

Humm , there have been to many random contests that have been art theamed lately. I wish there was one where you could send in anything. Anything! Pictures, words ect and they give a prize to the one which is the most random. The would be a cool random contest.

I love cheese! I've never entered a random contest before but I'm going to have to do this one. Time to make a shopping list... :D (I'll post my final product when it's finished.)

Hmm, while I may not be a good artist, 3d sculptures will eliminate my problem of perspective... I hope. I'll see about rounding up som cheese :)

...*le sigh* I'm so un-artistic, but at least this one isn't a drawing type one. I probably won't be doing this, either... but ah well. Good luck to all, and congrats to everybody who placed in the last one!

Urg, cheese. Well, this is one I'm skipping out on.

I have to say, and I mean this in NO OFFENCE to my fellow PPT'ers who won, but I was very disappointed to see that many of the winners didn't adhere to the rule of not altering the given side. I worked so hard on mine (and as you'll see, I didn't get in :( ), and I had to do a lot of special work to get it to fit in it's side.

Why post a rule if you're going to pick winners from those that didn't adhere to them? Gee, I don't do cheese, so I might just make my entry out of potatoes.

Sorry, I'm just bummed that many potential winners who followed the rules got bumped out of the top slots. Again, I mean no harm to anyone that did win who did bend the rules, because your submissions were great. I'm mad at TNT, not you.

Thanks guys!!

I realized that the tongue is kinda oversized but only after the poor Spardel's head rolled off. I didn't exactly feel like tediously replacing a lot of the red that came off (pepperoni) so I decided to keep the pics I already had. Spardels are suppose to look uber goofy anyway, right? :P

Your spardle is really cute and very close to the 'real' thing! Hope you win! :)

Wow that Spardel is awesome! I have exams coming up so I didn't have time to enter this contest, its a shame cos it looks like a lot of fun. I really hope you win!

I'm in psycho chick's position - none of these random contests ever seem within my ability to create/mould/manipulate/conquer/:evil:

I digress

Anyway it is always entertaining to see the winners.

If it isn't too late you guys who are doing this might consider making a sweet cheese dip. I've never had any but I heard of it before. It is basically creme cheese with stuff in it like sprinkles or chocolate chips or other things. You eat it with graham crackers or cookies or whatever you like. Dessert Cheese balls sound yummy.
