Not a huge topshop fan, but did get a jacket from there the other day when I was desperate for something that a) wouldn't swamp me and b) didn't have a furry hood.
And I do like their vest tops etc. 'cause they're cheap and simple

Try H&M. I got a cool, furless jacket from there. Cheap and cheerful! I love Topshop skirts, I got a really cute short brown gypsy skirt from there.

I live outside of Ottawa, in a small town called Smiths Falls
