Anything and everything goes in here... within reason.

"the universe is immeasurably vast and immeasurably old, so, you'd think there'd be trillions of lifeforms out there, with teeming citys, signals, radio, light whatever, bouncing about the place.
and yet..nothing, no ruins, no signals, no collossal alien vessels ruining up the place.
if they existed, we would know about them.
we are alone, doomed to forever wander the universe in search of sentient life, until the universe itself has fallen ill and dies."
(my take on the ferme paradox)
in my opinion it is more arrogant to believe sentient life exists, it is a sad fact that ultra novas destroy anything before it has a chance to live properly, humans are living on borrowed time ourselves, it wont be too long before a couple of neutron stars collide and finish us all.

Yes I believe in aliens as there has to be life on other planets in our universe even if it is very who knows how long away in our universe.

You know, my scoutmaster was talking with me and two of my friends on the last night of summer camp, and he came up with an interesting point: What makes you so sure that the aliens we will meet are carbon-based? What if the aliens are actually, say, helium based? What if... all the ghosts we think we see, are actually aliens, whose cloaking devices are failing? And the reason it gets all cold is because the aliens have to stay at a denser level in order to help them stay in the earth's gravitational force or something? (ok, that last part's just a leap of faith, I haven't taken physics yet)
But, anyways, we did apparently see a UFO up at camp the first night, but I couldn't find where they were looking at it in the sky, and then it flew behind a tree.

I'm sure we all want to believe in sentient extra terrestial life, including myself. But sometimes it seems almost un-plausable: Ok if there were say billions of advanced alien races with large futuristic electronic cities and space ships ect. And sendingall their signals all about through the universe, well with all those signals, being that of electric and other kinds for coommunication you would think with all are giant ssattelites and all we would detect some minute signal, of some kind. Yet nothing...
I don't what reason god would have for making other life, but it would be quite interesting. Its not plausable to think of evolution as part of development of other life, because for random particles and bacteria combining to make something that actually works. Just is so random its pretty much impossible, for a human like race like us to survive we need conditions just like Eart, not too cold, not too warm, the chances of another planet with ideal conditions for life like ours would be some thing like: 10,000 30, thats something like 10,000 followed by thirty 0's. But its an extremely huge number.

i do believe. but, i just always wonder, what their language is like. do they communicate like we do..if they have cool accents like british people

You know, I was actually talking to my dad about that the other day. I was wondering how they would communicate with us if the aliens we might one day meet can't hear, and they communicate through smells. Do you think scientists could make some sort of "Smell Translator" then?

i said that..or has everyone just taken to ignoring me off the bat to save time?
actually 10,000 to the power of 30 is 10,000 followed by a further 30 10,000's
your thinking of 10

eh, I don't really beleieve in aliens....
Fri Jul 30, 2004 5:24 pm
I sortof belive in them, i just don't exactly think that they are evil little green people out to destroy the world.
Fri Jul 30, 2004 6:04 pm
Kind of, not the aliens in movies, there is no way they have legs eyes and heads like some people think. I'm quite sure there is some kind of intellegent life form somewhere, I don't see why not, there are a lot of planets out there, at least one has to be good for life form.

If anyone here is an alien, it's Shoyru Lover. He is, after all, the...thing...from...
Uranus!!!

I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that it hasn’t tried to contact us yet.
Fri Jul 30, 2004 8:54 pm
I think it's selfish of humans to think we were just something that sprang about in the backwaters of this universe. Of course there much be some form of intelligent lifeforms in this universe, if not this solar system or even this galaxy.
But they are out there. *eerie voice*
Dawn makes a good point about them only being organisms. But I think if we found any lifeforms in this solar system, they would be organisms.

I believe in Aliens for the same reasons everyone else does. The universe is so big it's hard to not believe in them. There's been so many sightings and even though I bet most of them are fake I bet at least some are real. Why else would the government cover up Area 51 or whatever unless it's a myth or something.
Sat Jul 31, 2004 12:10 am
I have a huge poster over my bed with an alien behind bars with a sign over it that says area 51... I got it 5 years ago because I thought it looked cool
And yes, I belive in aliens...
I know this sounds far fetched, but my physics teacher showed us a movie about an african tribe that knew about these 2 special stars... They had it writen on cave walls, and when they were asked how they knew, they said the aliens told them [300 years ago... It was passed on in that tribe]
About 20 years ago, with technology, scientist or what ever found out that what ever this african tribe said was true...
And its not like this tribe live like we do... Theres no other way they could have found out about it.
