STAFF APPLICATIONS FOR THE SKETCH OEKAKI ARE NOW OFFICIALLY OPEN! You have from June 29th-July 4th to apply. (Though due to different timezones i may accept entries a day late)
With the opening of two more oekakis, we clearly need some more admin power to keep things running smoothly. So i guess it’s time to open up the staff applications! Huzzah! All current PPTO members whose accounts are over three months old are allowed to apply. Applications should be send via Omail to me (Gfaerie), and once i have collected them all i shall send them to Kym and BA and we shall have a long discussion. I know that this time window is not exactly huge, and that it doesn’t suiteveryone, but we will probably open apps again.
We hope to get about 3 admins for the sketch oekaki. We’re looking for people who have as many as the following qualities as possible.
- Members should be active and visit the oekaki frequently. There should be evidence of the user being an active commenter, at least.
- Members should be able to compare art and should be able to tell what is and what isn’t classed as spam.
- The users should refrain from being blunt or rude to other oekaki members.
- If there is a dispute, they must deal with it in a calm and understanding manner.
- Should be good at dealing with complaints and calmly explaining the errors of user’s ways. Must be able to provide a just argument for their actions e.g. deleting something as spam, which someone really objects to.
- Preferably the members should not have been involved in any previous drama on the main oekaki, or that hasn’t posted any “I’m leaving pictures” due to the drama. (or they should not have at least been involved in drama for a looong time.)
- They should at least have average drawing ability. (In the case of the advanced oekaki the user must be a good artist in order to be an admin there. They must also tryout the same as everyone else.)
- Must have been a member for at least three months. Older members are preferred as they are theoretically more familiar with the normal oekaki, and hopefully with the way things work.
- Easy to remember usernames help.
Your application should include a summary of why you think you would be suitable for the job. Use the guidelines above to help. The occasional bit of humor is good too, but don’t overdo it. ;D
I have also compiled some ‘what if’ scenarios, which i would like sent with your app. There are no right or wrong questions for these - i just thought it would help us deciding who to choose. Just type what you would do if you were an admin in that situation, okay? Simple. These are the scenarios:
- A user has posted an under timed picture, solely for the purpose of asking for requests. The picture clearly hasn’t had much effort into it, but some users have already made their requests.
- User A has commented on a perfectly acceptable picture, noting that it they do not like it. The comment also includes two rather blunt crits that are not helpful in any way.
- User A has posted their first picture on the oekaki. However it is undertimed.
- After deleting a picture as you considered it spam,User A has replied to your omail demanding to know why you deleted it, and that they ‘tried really hard’. They also comment on how the rule is unfair.
- User A posts a leaving picture, which causes lots of drama. Apparently they are leaving because they feel left out.
- User A comments on another person’s picture, making a not-so-subtle hint that they considered it to be spam.
- In the comments of their picture, user A posts the lyrics to a song. There are five verses in the song and it really stretches the page.
- User A posts the same comment on every single picture on the front page.
- User A omails you to say that they are being harassed by another member.
- User A posts picture directing other users to a link in the comments - a funny video they found on the internet. The picture they posted had little effort into it, but was humorous. The link itself was quite good, and other users seem to like it.
- User a draws a picture which depicts a girl in the nude. The girl is curvaceous yet all details of her body are hidden. The picture is well drawn.
- User A is new to the oekaki, and upon joining they immediately post four pictures in a row, all spam and all undertimed.

Just recieved a question off Lynn - “If I apply for staff at the Sketch oekaki, can I still apply at the Advanced?”
Yes, you can still apply at the advanced oekaki as well. I guess you can recycle your application for he sketch as well, if you must. ^^;
If you are accepted at the sketch oekaki as an admin, but you change your mind and want to apply for the advanced oekaki as well, i guess we’ll let you swap. I mean i don’t see any harm in that. ^^; Unless you’re not an ‘advanced’ artist yourself.
We want all normal admins to be assigned to their own oekaki, though, so people will only be allowed to admin at one oekaki. (However note that Superadmins will be allowed to moderate on all three.)
